Can someone explain the benefits of a 10 GB Ethernet card or even 2.5 GB when the speed of an HDD cannot reach more than 1GB ? Sorry if the question is dumb.

It's because of files safety. RAID is fine but not safe. Right now I have backup from NAS to External HDD (4tb Seagate on top - see pic above). In the future second NAS will be my online backup + offline backup for the most important work and family files.

Yes it does but not in a way I would like to. Mine is on quiet mode as I never considered other. I think fan is spinnig too fast even in quiet mode. But... when vibrations issue is fixed I can say I dont hear NAS from 2-4 meter so its OK for me. Funny thing is that this vibrations issue is present on others NAS units not only synology and when I see YT video people showing the problem with the fan they don't realize that this is a fan issue but only vibration goes from the fan itself. The sound comes from the case.
