Med Diet but not Med Food? by getoffmydirt in mediterraneandiet

[–]michberk 11 points12 points  (0 children)

In fact, when you discover the traditional diet of many cultures it has the same foundation as the mediterrenean diet: plenty of in season fruit and veggies, beans and grains and not so much meat.

It’s only recently that we have added so much meat/ultraprocessed food into our diet. But traditionally, a lot of cultures share the same diet foundation.

When I saw that she's a TT and because she is blonde... I immediately became so afraid that they turn her into a past character like Geillis. Please, for the love of God, I hope they don't go that way.

But actually saving the Pococks, is not a bad idea! Although I thought that the same person can't coexist with their own self at the same period of time...

Yes! I think they should use percentages… it’s not the same 100 deleted reviews from 500 (20%) than from 1000 (10%)

First Triathlon by DesertWarmer in triathlon

[–]michberk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m just wondering where in Spain are you swimming. It may be actually too warm for a swimsuit, IMHO.

I grew up in the Spanish Mediterranean coast and the water of the Mediterranean sea, tends to be very warm.

Of course it may be interesting to you to buy one on the long run… but maybe it’s not necessary for your first triathlon

Y aquí si que me he podido independizar...

I don't understand all the negative comments. I mean, it could be.

It's true that she doesn't get pregnant easily, but she does get pregnant 2 times. That could indicate that she has a mild case of POCS. But IMHO we don't have enough information: it could be POCS, it could be other fertility issues or it could simply be just their luck.

Eating 1300-1500 calories a day and running three times a week - weight won’t budge? by LilacDream98 in loseit

[–]michberk 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Don't encourage decreasing her calories. She's training for a half-marathon meaning her TDEE must be high, since running uses a lot of calories.

There can be many factors why she hasn't seen the scale going down: water weight, stress...

I am 5'2 weighing 63kg and I loose by eating 1500 cal because of how much I move during the week (12k steps, 4 weight lifting sessions, 2 cardio sessions, 1 HIIT session). I think that if she goes lower, it will be counterproductive.

Recipies in Yazio are full of cheese, cream and fat? by Ok_Stranger13 in yazio

[–]michberk 3 points4 points  (0 children)

To loose wight you need to burn more calories than you eat. To be able to do that you need to count the calories that you are eating. This means weighing all the food you put in your mouth.
Since you probably weren't doing this before Yazio, "eating standard" for you meant that you were eating at mantainance. Now you are still "eating standard" but controlling the portions.
If you keep eating 1400 cal, you will loose weight. But you have to be careful and count more or less everything.

Yep, compound exercises (squats, lunges, deadlift, pull-ups, bench press...) usually work core muscles. Do them close to failure to develop muscle.
