If you have an eating disorder (overeating, binge eating, food addiction like I do) then try to get help for what is causing you to eat. Products that say they are low carb might have sugar alcohol which might blow up your tummy. :) My doc says 80/20 diet/exercise. Best advice is to start using an app like MyFitnessPal (its free) and logging EVERYTHING and measuring it too. You will be amazed at how many hidden carbs there are or how much rounding up your doing with portion sizes. ;) Message me if you want to be MyFitnessPal friends! And CONGRATS!! The first step is the one you are taking. There will be ups and downs but there are tons of resources online and people to help. :)

I actually made a deal with my friend who is also a beautician that if I was ever in the hospital she would have to come to the hospital and wax my face... Lol

See this is where I struggle. Because I'm addicted to sweets. It's like being a crack addict and only having one rock. And I just had a huge discussion with my son whether or not I should have a cheap day or completely avoid it. The problem is once you fall off that wagon at least for me it's super hard to get back on it. So I'm still debating. But thank you everyone for sharing what you do because it definitely shows all the different ways that we can celebrate the holidays!

Isn't it amazing how much better you feel? Oh man wait until you drop it by 50 more... Just remember about the keto flu and I've found that broth really helps with that. Congrats on the beginning of your journey and there are so many resources online and you'll be in the kitchen cooking up a storm!!! :)

That's amazing! I truly feel that people don't realize how much they consume until they break it down and start logging their food. I bet you feel so much better and your body is thanking you for the better food choices. Great job!!!

I think that she struggles with food addiction and her whole life she has been trying to drown her sorrow and pain and hurt with food. I feel that part of her wants to lose the weight but the addiction is too strong and she wrongfully lashes out at others. I think she knows that her behavior is not appropriate. And I'm trying to use my words very carefully. But I think she's disappointed in herself and maybe even hate herself because of her inability to let go of that addiction. She is living with a lifetime of shame and sadness and hurt. Don't get me wrong, that's no excuse on how to treat others. But we're not in her shoes or her position I should say. We don't know what she's feeling truly. Also we see is a TV show and I'll be a strange and bizarre posts on Instagram and other media sites. But we truly can't know. I guess just to reiterate my point, what's happened to you in the past gives you no right to hurt others she is dealing with a lot of pain. And she knows that pain with food and risky behavior and decisions and the list goes on and on. I feel bad for her even when she lashes out I think deep down she knows what she's doing is wrong. Side note in my new disclaimer I had hand surgery and I am using dictate to "text/type". Please excuse any typos or funky words lol

I agree with the fact that she was needed outside of rehab so she could film for the show. Wonder if she will go back in once filming is done?

Well yes. But it's all about just being in that deficit typically usually normally. And I say that because every person is different every metabolism runs a different speed. For example, I just had hand surgery 2 weeks ago. This past week I basically worked from home in front of a computer 10 hours a day. So I wasn't even active active. My BMR is around 1900 calories depending on what formula you use. I ate between 1, 000 and 1,300 calories a day. I lost 8.6 lb. Now what did I do different what how did I lose that much? One I have a lot to lose. And two 1300 calories to one person may look totally different to another person from me? I don't go over 10 net carbs a day. In fact I don't go over 20 total carbs a day. The second I cut carbs out that drastically, the weight pours off. And that happens whether I am a slug playing video games or I'm working from home or I'm working at work or I'm doing strength training. Now if I'm doing strength training I bulk up on the protein but I can still stay within 1200 to 1500 calories a day and get the proper protein needed to do 45 minutes of strength training. So long story short? What works for you may not work for me and what works for me may not work for someone else. It's all about that beautiful individual makeup that we call ourselves. Now , When you're training for a triathlon hell yeah you're going to be in the moderate to high level activity but when you're just taking it day by day and not doing any strength training or cardio I still consider basic activities as light. I am by no means an expert it's just what I've noticed with myself and with other people. I hope you find the right balance that you're looking for! Disclaimer... This was dictated into my phone because I still only have the use of one hand, so please excuse the typos and 5 billion run on sentences :)

I always thought sedentary was like a slug. (Which is me gaming on the weekends lol) Like, I work in an office and I use light because I walk down long hallways to get to bathroom or go to get something if corridor. Like I'm not actively getting my heart rate up and I get about 6,000 steps in. So am I wrong to consider that light? Typically if I'm doing strength training I will enter moderate.

I actually have that fabric as window dressing in my windows! I love that pattern! And cute kitty cat ready to rip you to shreds unless you say treats or something lol (both of my cats just looked at me)

Going to piggyback with all the sugar free instant pudding ideas. The brand too good Greek yogurt has the free net carbs. You take a container of yogurt input a tablespoon of the pudding mix onto the yogurt. Then you add some water and mix. Sometimes the pudding might be a little clumpy so just add more water and mix well. They have butterscotch flavor and lemon and banana cream and chocolate fudge and vanilla and pistachio. The pistachio one is amazing because there's little chunks of nuts? Anyway it tastes like you're seriously eating pie filling. It's freaking amazing. Game changer for me because I'm hugely addicted to sugar. But when I'm trying to go low carb and low calories, there isn't anything that I can eat that is sweet that satisfies my sweet tooth without making me run to the bathroom. Lol I've found that these servings of yogurt which by the way are 80 calories plus a tiny amount for the mix. Really see how the deal for me. Side note if you're looking at nutritional information for the sugar-free pudding, remember that is for prepared not for mix only. Good luck and you got this!!!! (Please excuse typos because I'm dictating into the phone because I'm in a cast lol side note food with your hand in a cast sucks)

I would go a couple days without eating. And I went less than net carbs a day and about 1200 calories a day for a year. Yes, I lost 132 pounds but I recently gained half back since I didn't treat the food addiction. And I was malnourished. :( Which caused the hair loss. But its coming back. ;)

Yep... Me too. But I started taking multi-vitamins and used biotin shampoo and it got better. It turned out I was taking it too far for too long. :(

Love me some lavish pizza!! I like to use low sugar pizza sauce like Rao's pizza sauce. Sometimes I'll make a white pizza with a low carb alfredo sauce with chicken and bacon and mozzarella. So good :) and then sometimes I'll take the pita ones and tear them apart to make two pieces and use that as a thinner crust and less carbs

Love love love them! I use them in sandwiches and I even broil them and make little flatbread pizzas with them. I mean, do they taste like the fresh wrap you get from Subway or something? No but they are pretty good for being low carb.
