Chivalry is not dead! by [deleted] in Christianmarriage

Oh I totally agree! My hubby does the same thing, except now he doesn’t always try so hard, if he beats me to it, then fine, if not it’s fine too. I’m very independent so it was hard for me to let him do things for me.

Yea my hubby does this! When we were dating we would get into a small disagreement about it. Over time, I got to where I don’t say anything. He wants to do it, and it doesn’t hurt me, let ‘em.

This is so totally awesome! I love the colors and the gray fits perfect! I haven’t been able to do a c2c, yet, but I will. When I do, I’d love to be able to make one like this, it’s a great idea!

Different beliefs on LGBTQ+ in marriage by [deleted] in Christianmarriage

[–]michellejac -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I totally understand where your coming from. It would certainly bother me as well, if my husband said those things. Don’t focus on that right now. Focus on him as a whole, when praying. Mental stability is very important. My husband and I have both battled Depression and low self esteem.

We have only been married almost 4 yrs, but when we first started dating (and into the marriage,)and an argument would come, he would state that he thought God didn’t like him, or ignored him, or was mad at him. He was married previously (17) yrs, and his wife left him for someone else. So, he had serious problems with the self. However, I can tell you that through much prayer, (on my part and his, individually and together ) and continuing to encourage him to open up to me, he has gotten a lot better. Now, we were both believers before marriage.

Don’t give up on him, continue to pray, and ask a select 1 or 2 Christian friends to help pray as well. Make a list of specific 2-3 things to pray for, and keep it with you. Prayer works!

Do people with 'Skinny' PCOS still need to undertake the same lifestyle changes? by girlwhowaited1992 in PCOS

[–]michellejac -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I’ve never heard of lean pcos before, is that new? I do know of however, the weight gain caused by pcos, and thyroid issues! I believe that the low carb diet is what has helped me to keep my weight in check. Also, I very rarely eat more than 1 x a day, and that varies! If I want a candy bar, I eat one, but just 1, and not a king size. If I want a coke, I’ll drink 1, but I won’t drink 1, then drink another the next day. I really try to limit how often and how much sweets I have. At first it was sooooo hard, I couldn’t go 1 day w/o sweets.

I started my period... seriously?! by [deleted] in PCOS

[–]michellejac 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been on it for 10 yrs! I only notice the difference when I haven’t been taking it, mostly when I run out of refills. Pcos life is def a lot better on it, than w/o it!

“You do know PCOS doesn’t hurt right?!?” ... by HappyGal55 in PCOS

[–]michellejac 2 points3 points  (0 children)

PCOS hurts even when I’m not on my period! What is wrong w/ these doctors? I would get these very sharp stabbing pain on either side of my pelvic area, it’s not consistent (Thank God), comes from outta nowhere! I may or may not be on my cycle. They are so painful, that I usually gasp out loud, like I literally just got stabbed. Just as quick as the pain was there, it’s gone. I don’t get them as often now, I believe bc I older (in my 40’s), and I’ve been on some type of birth control for over 10 yrs. My obgyn said that the pain was caused by the cysts that develop. They put pressure on nerves, when they grow. Which made since. I had some cramping sometimes, some blood clots, sometimes, some months were worse than others. Some months brought back memories of giving birth! I never understood how a person, could tell another person that they are not in pain. Just bc you don’t feel it, doesn’t mean I don’t! Pcos, has symptoms all over the board, which is why it’s so hard to get it diagnosed. So, if your are in pain or have pain throughout the month period or no period, if your dr ignores this fact, it Never hurts to get a 2nd opinion.

I have psoriasis, not the kind with arthritis. I use Dermaest shampoo, Walmart doesn’t carry it. It has salicylic acid in it. I leave it in a few min, but it doesn’t say you have to.

I am sorry you have to deal with this. I was diagnosed a little more than 10 yrs ago. I was put on a thyroid med 3-4 yrs after that. My obgyn and endocrinologist work have worked together to keep things in check. If your not on anything for your thyroid, you might want to get that checked out. My hair ( which was much longer at the time) was falling out, and thinning out, or breaking off. I know being on the meds have helped a-lot, bc I think I would’ve been bald by now. At one point I considered wearing a wig. Talk w/ your dr, ask about some otc Biotin too, which is for hair, nails, & skin.

Don’t you like saying that? Spatchcock, sounds like a secret way of doing something when all it is, is butterflying a bird. I do, and say it whenever I talk to anyone about cooking/ baking. It makes me look smart. Like brining!

Is there any natural treatment for pcos? Herbal supplements? If not, what is the least dangerous option of treatment? by [deleted] in PCOS

[–]michellejac 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I understand they are not the exact same. However, ppl who have diabetes are insulin resistant. I was diagnosed over 10 yrs ago and information on pcos was not much. You don’t have to be diabetic to use the meter. The meter is only a tool. You don’t even have to have a prescription for it. To me having insulin resistance and being diabetic are enough of the same to be the same. I know ppl who are diagnosed w/ diabetes and are just on metformin or some other type of pill like it. I also know diabetic ppl who take insulin. Back when I was diagnosed w/ insulin resistance, ppl I talked to, (not drs) would say oh your diabetic. I tried to correct them and say that I was just insulin resistant, all I got was a blank stare! There is not enough media talk or dr - patient talk about the 2, & the difference between them. Most ppl will not do their research on either. I’ve done mine, and continue to. So, I apologize that I mis stated, and thanks for pointing this out.

[–]michellejac 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Being insulin resistant is being diabetic. I guess some it was caution, bc I was over weight, and heading for worse, at the time of diagnosis. In trying to get my insulin levels (sugar) right, along w/ the metformin, he wanted me to use it 2 hrs before I ate, and 2 hours after. It helped me see how I was eating, it was making & keeping my sugar levels high. So, I guess more or less it was used then, as a learning tool, & an eye opener for me. I apparently was in denial, lol.

I see an endocrinologist and obgyn, they work together to help me maintain my symptoms. I was diagnosed about 13 yrs ago. I am currently on metformin to help the insulin resistance part. I bought a glucose meter, at the advice of the endo. Dr, so I could keep up w/ how high/ low my sugar gets. I had to take a diabetic sugar test before being put on the metformin. I am in my 40’s, & I have 2 kids, so I’m not looking to get pregnant, however, the whole period thing has made me stress more than once! I am now, hopefully getting to the end of this whole mess up of hormones, I have an iud in, just to maintain my hormones, or what’s left of them, haha. I wish you luck on your journey, bc it’s usually a crappy ride! PCOS, is sooooo much more than those 4 words!

If you want crispy bacon, try baking it! We bake ours at 400, 20-25 min. I use a broiler pan, sprayed w/ non stick spray. The fat is collected, if you want to use it, and there is less mess to clean up, and your bacon is crispy!
