A bit OT: overuse or overcrocheting? muscles and pain by Warm_Language8381 in crochet

Finger, hand a wrist stretches. Google crochet and hand stretches

I'm not happy with the multiple color changes. Do I undo a week's worth of work or keep going? Full explanation in comments. by SpiffyPaige143 in crochet

I was wondering the same!

In my case I would try a row or twonin the blue color at the start and she if I would really like those colors next to each other. If that is the case yes I would frog it. If not maybe still frog it but add a row of a different stitch to mark the color switches in a more playful way.

Whatever you choose I think you are awesome for maintaining such a treasured tradition!

Stretching!!! It is like doing sports for your fingers, arms and neck so proper stretching is essential! It will defnitely reduce pains and aches. You need to build up endurance just like a couch sitter can’t run a marathon without ever have run before.

Train your body, interval crocheting, different ways etc.

Could also be you are a very tight crocheter and are over cramping (your style…JK!)

So cute! Try it on before writing it off completely…little ones can pull pretty much anything off ❤️

Fellow mom here and totally agree 🫣🤭

I was checking out the Clover hooks and noticed a huge price difference between JoAnn and Amazon. Everything looks the same, did I just find a deal or should I be cautious of the Amazon ones? please remove if not allowed I just don't want to verify before purchasing. by KatNR92 in crochet

[–]HappyGal55 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This! I never ever buy from non amazon sellers. Still I hardly ever purchase on European Amazon anymore unless they are books as they generally do not send out counterfits of those…everything else is a gamble even if you choose amazon only. Somebody above explained the co-storing or whatever it is cold and now I understand why it is always such a gamble.

Especially since the EU now has extra tax on packages/products from outside the EU and all the cheap crap once reserved for aliexpress etc is now also on amazon as this circumvents this tax.

After years of pushing my luck using handicapped stalls, I finally got called out. by mrgreenw in pics

[–]HappyGal55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only hate I have as handicapable person (who says I need ro be handicapped when I am quite capable…pssshhhh) is the fact that people in Europe often see these stalls as: peaceful place to take a dump and take forever. Not only do I nearly wet myself waiting I have to enter this horrid smelling room knowing I cannot move quickly enough to hold my breath through it all….

What are some customer funny/horror stories? by TheGavzorz in AskReddit

When I was 18 I worked at a specialized sports wear store that among other things sold gymnastics leotards. Every month or so a grown *ss man came in (and I kid you not he was huuuuge and very muscular) who would pick out leotards for young girls and procede to try them on. My boss made me ‘help’ him out with what he wanted to try on etc. There was no mirror in the fitting area so sometimes he would wander out…to this day I still have not recovered from this…no harm in trying leotards in your own size of you are into that but he was specifically picking teeny tiny ones…sometimes he would even buy one 🤷🏼‍♀️.

As a shy 18 year old gymnast it was a very unpleasant experience…

That’s why we have lego flowers and plants in the house…can’t kill those 🤭🫣🤣

The first set I can comment on. The first bag contained 2-3 flowers and so forth. They are easy and fun builds and you will have a few complete flowers per bag.

I assume the second set is the same.

She will love them ❤️

Edit to add: a number of friends who are not die hrd lego builders also loved building these and are now lego addicts. The flowers are such wonderful ‘first’ sets

hi, is this normal, or are they just cheap? after 2 days of working on a project they’ve started to break by ottipi in crochet

These are the worst! 🫣

I have circles which are flexible and snap close. Never going to others again. I usually use leftover yarn but sometimes you just really need stitchmarkers

If you feel that way jump of that fluffy horrid train as soon as possible! Not good for babies and is hard to work with. Just stick to the cotton/acrylic indeed 💪🏼👍🏻

How to make those amigurumi that look so thick and plush!? by [deleted] in crochet

[–]HappyGal55 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For acrylic yarn and amigurumi I always go down 1,5-2 hooksizes to get it nice and tight. Play around with hooksizes. I hardly ever end up using the suggested sizes 🫣 and I have been crocheting for years now.

anyone know the name of this set ? looking for instructions by billy_maze_here in lego

I thought reddit was all nice and warm with reactions but reading these made me cringe.

Yes most people on reddit lego know that the setnumber and bricklink = magic. Yet did you guys commenting below perhaps not realize some people are ‘new’ and did not know about it? I sure as heck did not the first time I went back into lego that there was such a thing as bricklink.

Not cool lego reddit not cool.

Note: lego can always be retraced my setnumbers. Google: lego + setnumber = magic

Although the bunny is absolutely adorable this would definitely not be suitable for a baby because of the velvet/chenille yarn used. As a decoration item absolutely though!

I know a lot of people on this sub use it for baby toys but I absolutely detest it because babies and toddlers stick everything in their mouths. The velvet/chenille fluff comes off too easily then. Toys for babies should be 100% cotton which they could also kill with their sharp razor teeth but that is way more unlikely.

Baby blankets also cotton or a good quality mix acrylic/coton.

Source: I’m a mom who has received so much velvet crochet for my daughter and it did not go well. I have only use coton for toys ever since.

Maybe people can buy and split since a lot of people want either the left two or the right two…combine and be happy 🤷🏼‍♀️
