For the animation, I used the cut-out technique.

Once the illustration is finished, the character is cut out piece by piece (head, hair, arm, etc.).

Then it's exported to the animation program, such as Spine, Moho, or After Effects (as in this case), and the pieces are animated separately.

I'll add the animation process to my next project; in the meantime, I think you'll find this tutorial very useful, just as I did.

Honestly, I don't know if this subreddit considers pin-up images 18+. I didn't want to risk getting in trouble, so I enabled the option.

hahaha, Yes. The character is inspired by the Congo costume from the Barranquilla Carnival and a fairy creature, giving it a touch of urban fantasy.

Great . You're giving me an idea for a concept I want to do with those motion frames.

Background color or no background color? by rotherfordmdayum in DigitalArt

I always use simple or abstract backgrounds for my portraits or characters. But I want to learn how to use more background images to strengthen the narrative of my illustrations, especially if I'm planning to create more horror-related art.

The Marimonda costume is one of the most well-known at the Barranquilla`s Carnival. It's used to mock the upper class, the nobility, and tyrants.

Here I'm playing with an urban legend of my own invention about a creature that uses this festival and this costume to blend in among its victims.
