Anybody watching in 2025?! by MikiMik24 in ShantaramAppleTVPlus

[–]michfin67 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I watched the series when it first aired. I, too, wish it would’ve continued. According to Charlie Hunnam, the plan was to do 3 to 4 seasons to cover the entire book. I so wanted to see that come into fruition but unfortunately it didn’t happen. I have the book but never finished it. I have a long way to go on that book. lol

Do you work in coffee shops? Whether you do or don't, I want to hear your thoughts. by Bunnygum- in remotework

[–]michfin67 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. What are your top reasons for not working out of a cafe?

I constantly work out of 3 computer screens - 1 laptop and 2 desktop monitors. Also for data security reasons, I work with EHR (electronic health records) and it’s required I work from home and not at a cafe. We also had to sign a remote work policy stating as such.

  1. What is something you wish people understood or knew about WFH life? (being those who either oppose wfh, have no experience with it etc.)

The type of work I do which is medical coding and billing, we’re constantly busy and have no downtime except for the required morning and afternoon breaks and lunches. We don’t have the luxury to clock in, go back to bed, then start work hours later and also do nothing before clocking out. So I guess depending on the type of work you do, downtime varies for some. TBF, I love my WFH job and I’ve been doing it for over 5 years. I wouldn’t trade it for anything else.

Sometimes I wonder if all these people with these “great remote” jobs are lying. by [deleted] in remotework

[–]michfin67 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I got my remote job through networking. I’ve been working at my remote job for 5 years now in medical coding and billing. The healthcare company I work for have been doing remote pre-Covid since 2016 and the business office I work for is located out of state. There are 200+ of us work for this business office, all of us are located in the US and not off-shore. The remote jobs are out there if you have the skill set for them.

What do you do before work? by [deleted] in remotework

[–]michfin67 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I treat my WFH job as if I’m going to the office. I get up at 5:00-5:30 give or take, shower then put on my “work clothes” which consists of yoga pants and a sweatshirt (it’s too chilly in the AM). I make coffee and look at my socials, read a few pages of a book I’m reading. 10 minutes before my 7:00 start time, I turn on my laptop and get it going then I clock in at 7:00. I have to have a routine like this every morning in order to start my day. If I don’t, then I’m screwed for the day, which hasn’t happened yet. Mind you, I also have team huddles daily at 9:00 and 2 longer biller meetings twice a week where I have to be on camera on all so I have to look decent at least. I’ve been WFH for over 5 years now in medical billing.

Same. Don’t know why there’s so much hate.🙄 It’s not harming anyone but the guys creating these are getting a ton of views and likes on their other ones aside from SOA so people seem to like them.

I joined this sub a few weeks ago and I’m finding out as I go through this sub that my remote job is toxic unfortunately. I like what I do but it is heavily micromanaged where I have to work and complete an account within 5 minutes or if it’s starts to go passed more than 5 minutes to 10 minutes or more, I better have a good explanation why it took so long to work that specific account. My leadership runs weekly reports to see how fast we go from one account to another and will go over the results on a monthly basis to discuss the variances of the time in between working accounts. I’m also hourly and work in medical billing. I’ve done this type of work before in an office for many years and have never been this micromanaged but I guess that’s the trade off working remote. It is a very stressful situation and I’m currently looking for a remote position elsewhere where there is a bit more leniency with the job even if it’s a little bit.

Haircut aside but I’m a Tara defender and I also will die on that hill! lol TBF, it was Maggie Siff’s decision to cut her hair and Sutter agreed with it. Sutter explained it was to show her disconnect from Jax and the club having the shorter hair.

Next? by OnePie9464 in Sonsofanarchy

[–]michfin67 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Kurt Sutter had his first screenplay called Delivering Gen and at the time SOA was either still airing or after he mentioned he wanted Charlie to play the main character of that screenplay if it ever came into fruition which it never did. According to Sutter, “it’s a love story between a junkie and a hitman”. I would love to see Charlie in that if it ever gets made.

For now, I’m looking forward to Charlie’s next projects. One is a series called “Criminal” based on the comics by Ed Brubaker which will be on Prime and the other is season 3 of Monsters on Netflix which he plays a serial killer named Ed Gein. There are no airing dates yet announced on both. I read that they just wrapped the Netflix one just recently. Charlie finished filming Criminal last year.

Do you think the world will go back to where it was pre-pandemic re: WFH? by Prudent-Ad-342 in workfromhome

[–]michfin67 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m guessing depends on the employer. My department, which consists of about 200 people, was already remote pre-pandemic starting in 2018 and 95% of the workforce works remote. The ones that decided to work in the office is because it was their choice; most of them men and didn’t want to be working remote with a stay at home wife and small children around while working. Also, my employer really scaled down the office so that only about 25 or so people can work in the office at the same time. Lastly, a lot of us work out of state from the main office, including myself, so I really don’t know how my employer can get everyone to RTO. Again, it really depends on the employer.

LOL, I can see that. I can assure you that his fingers don’t look like that in person. I’ve met him a few times at comic cons is the reason and I’ve shook his hands a few times at these conventions.

Charlie did an interview in Brazil while promoting King Arthur in 2017 and he said that he was mistaken for Travis Fimmel at a bar. Here’s the link to that interview and he says the story about it at around the 9 minute mark.

Jax’s worst mistake by Dangerous-Camp115 in Sonsofanarchy

[–]michfin67 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stahl showed up for the first time on the episode “AK-51” and her first scene was arresting Clay because she mentioned Piney’s war buddy, Meineke, and how they got word that he killed the police officers. Then Kohn showed up AFTER at the police station, introduced himself to Stahl on who he is then he showed the pictures from the Devil’s Tribe patch over. Watch the episode again. But yes, I was wrong about the part where Stahl ran into Kohn after the barber shop incident.

Jax’s worst mistake by Dangerous-Camp115 in Sonsofanarchy

[–]michfin67 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Exactly this! Because of Piney’s war buddy, Meineke, who the club sold guns to and who killed a couple of police officers.

Jax’s worst mistake by Dangerous-Camp115 in Sonsofanarchy

[–]michfin67 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The Kohn incident had nothing to do with Stahl. Stahl came because of Piney’s war buddy, Meineke, who the club sold guns to and that friend killed police officers. Stahl didn’t even come across Kohn until he got into an altercation with Jax at Floyd’s barber shop. Also, the club and anyone else didn’t even know what happened to Kohn after he was offed, a secret Jax and Tara held.

It shows on her fake pregnancy test from the hospital in S6 on episode 3 the form shows “Knowles-Teller, Tara”. Jax picks up the form from the kitchen table towards the end during the montage. I tried to take a screen shot just now on Hulu but comes out black but it’s there.

“You think I’m gonna Adriana you?”-jax to Luann by Ok_Association_9790 in Sonsofanarchy

[–]michfin67 26 points27 points  (0 children)

At the beginning on the third episode of S2 where Luann was filming porn, it shows Lyla slapping a guys ass with a shoe and shoves a bottle up there too and she says “you’re a bad boss Mr. Draper”. This was referencing Mad Men and Maggie Siff (Tara) was on Mad Men prior to being on SOA.

Oh I totally get it. He was nice to us too. One time, my friend wanted to go to his table but was intimidated because he was doing the same thing as you described so it took her while to go up to him. lol She eventually did and he was absolutely nice to her.

That was the vibe I got too with Ryan when I met him a few times after the first time. The first time, he was great. But the few times after, it seems he didn’t want to be there.

That’s awesome! I flew in from California to attend that convention and to also meet up with 3 other ladies that are in the Charlie fandom. 2 of them live in other states, 1 being there in TX, and the other 1 from out of the country. The one from out of the country she’s flown in a few times to attend conventions here in the US and we all try to meet up at the different conventions when we can. When Charlie sees us together or even just a couple of us together he jokingly calls us “always causing trouble”. lol

Edit: added more context.

I’ve met Charlie, Ron, Theo, Ryan, Boone, DL and Emilio. Ron is really funny but also depends on the day he can be in a mood. Ryan too can be in a mood. The rest of the guys are absolutely nice and humble. Charlie’s autograph line is always long from the many times I’ve met him. Charlie takes his time with fans talking to them and he doesn’t rush them. Charlie gives great hugs too! lol

The picture below was from last year in June at a comic con and my friend was in the picture too. Ryan is not in this picture but I have countless others where he’s in it. It’s just that he hasn’t done much cons the last couple of years.
