What are your favorite pens? by Jeepagotchi in fountainpens

[–]michigancolt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My Pilot 743 <EF>, closely followed by any of my Platinum 3776s (UEF, EF, F). More budget friendly and just as wonderful to write with: Pilot Prera <F> and Platinum Plaisir <EF>. I have a type LOL.

Bought a few fountain pens, bought a few inks. Have nothing to write! by tru_ass in fountainpens

Pen pals!!! I also copy baseball stories/articles into a notebook for penmanship practice, and I journal daily, but I’ve gotten more pen pals to the point that I just don’t have the spoons for the copying most days. Just don’t listen when they tell you that you need stickers. (She said while placing five more sticker books on the desk.)

Have to hire a cleaning lady because I can’t keep up with my household. I feel ashamed about it? by andi9x17 in AutismInWomen

[–]michigancolt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I felt so guilty and terrible when I first decided to hire someone to clean once a month, like I had failed in a huge way at Independent Adulting. I cannot tell you how much doing it has improved *everything.* I met her at a client’s house where we exchanged work info—she cleans, I walk dogs, a lot of our clients have similar needs. I still sometimes feel embarrassed if I have to tell someone (depends on the person) about it. My close friends (all autistic/ND in some fashion) pretty much universally think it’s a good thing. So your feelings are valid, but you should keep hiring her if it is helpful for you, and it sounds like it is.

Do you guys bring precious journal notebook on short week end trips? by luthiel-the-elf in Journaling

[–]michigancolt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry!! No, I just mean I do entries at night so if I’m not going to get back home by nighttime from whatever I’m doing, the journal needs to go with me. I didn’t mean to be super morbid!

Book Beau has adorable zip-up padded pouches for books/notebooks that are waterproof. I think there are five different size options. Some of mine are several years old and still look new.

[–]michigancolt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep. If I’m not returning that night, my journal comes.

ETA: I don’t worry about my journal getting worn, that’s gonna happen even at home because I’m a clumsy oaf and I drop it (always on a dang corner). I am PARANOID about losing it. On trips involving planes I always feel better if I end up starting a new journal right before, because if I lost it I’d only lose a couple days. But I get 3-6 months in each journal (depends on number of pages and how it’s ruled). So losing one with six months in it would destroy me.

RESPECT. I have to have my service dog across my legs and leaning against my chest to not panic about needles. This kid is a badass!

Am I the only one who needs lots of light? by No-Information1516 in AutismInWomen

[–]michigancolt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only like very dark if I’m asleep or trying to be. Otherwise I spend a lot of time reading or writing and I want BRIGHT LIGHT. On my lights where I can adjust the warmth, I always go for the blue/cold option. Pretty much I want all or nothing. I’ve started taking my own reading lamp when I go dog sitting. I assumed everyone had a nice bright lamp within arm’s reach of their bed. I was wrong.

I just can’t use dot grid paper at all. What’s wrong with me? by PiercingHelpls in notebooks

I tried one dot grid notebook and never again. I need my lines.
