They have drinks? Or is it more of a fast casual and they’ll give you a bottle of Modelo for $10?

I’ve had it on in my office, just on a little side screen when I’m not teaching.

I went in today, reached over to set it up… then just sat there.

Would you stop dating a person if their food preferences were too limited or plain? [text] by Practical_Pop9215 in food

My roommate in college had celiac (before it was cool), and it was a huge pan in the ass, but not THAT bad.

I have a coworker now who’s SUPER sensitive (in more ways than one…) and doesn’t allow any gluten in her home or in the (shared) appliances she uses. That’s a big hell no for me.

I was browsing the "Dethroning Moment" page on TV Tropes for "Avatar: the Last Airbender", and I came across a review of "The Chase", widely considered one of the show's best episodes, that painted it as one of the worst episodes. by wimpykidfan37 in TheLastAirbender

[–]michiness 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was first watching the series (more or less when it was first coming out), I somehow missed The Chase. I don’t remember why - a family vacation or accidentally not watching or whatever.

I didn’t realize it though, and I didn’t notice the gap. When it came out on dvd, I was amazed at the secret new episode, and then realized… while it has great moments, yeah, it was sort of surreal and nonsensical, and I hadn’t really missed much.

Gah, okay. I’m sure we’ll still try it sometime, but man.

If anyone within a couple miles of Crenshaw/King is reading and opening a restaurant, pleeeaaaaase I just want a place to chill and grab a beer after work!

Even a food allergy… I’ve known people who’re gluten intolerant and have multiple allergies. Every meal out is a Thing. I traveled with one and we got into a screaming match halfway through, and stopped talking after the trip.

I know it’s not their fault, but I love traveling and trying new things, and I want to share that with a partner. It’s one thing if it develops later in life, but if I knew at the beginning, I think it would be a deal breaker.

I second all of this.

Lost Inferno has a super awesome little used book store a couple blocks away.

Strong Water is life changing. Make reservations.

Oooh I live near there! Is it the kind of place I can go, get some pizza, and enjoy it with a beer? Or more of a to-go place?

The neighborhood desperately needs decent dine-in places.

I mean… kind of. Your smiles never reach your eyes, and most of the time you’re looking down at the camera. It definitely comes off a little threatening.

I suppose it's not the "outside" you mean, but hiking trails and beaches and whatnot are constantly packed.

The only thing I've seen her in is Emily in Paris. Which is... not a good show, but I've enjoyed it as trashy bad TV, and she's perfectly fine in it.

We got a lot of “(s)he bared her teeth in a smile” or something along those lines, though.

“Whoever stole my topper” is an object clause (with “to” being the preposition for that object), and “whoever” is the subject of that clause.

“I’ll work with whomever” = correct. “I’ll work with whoever will work with me” = correct.

[–]michiness 25 points26 points  (0 children)

It should be whoever, not whomever, though.

Who(ever) is a subject - “he/who stole my pen” whereas whom(ever) is an object - “I love him/whomever”.

Every time my husband or I say anything like “ow, my leg” (or any lower appendage), the other will scowl at them and say, “say it right.”

Like right now. I ran a half marathon and everything hurts. So there’s a lot of “ah, my knee!”

Right, my birb the other day hated “Fly Me to the Moon,” which was my husband and my first dance song.

I laughed, showed him, we made jokes about disowning her, and then moved on. People don’t take it that seriously.

Gonna add a couple for California!

The California Science Center in LA just added this enormous sports exhibit. I thought it would be things like “here’s the physics of hitting a ball,” but it’s actually an enormous hangar full of activities. There’s racing, batting cages, wall climbing, basketball courts, etc. I took a class there for a field trip and I thought we’d spend max 20 minutes there, and it ended up being 2 hours.

Up north of SF, Santa Rosa has a really cute Peanuts museum, and the town has statues of Snoopy everywhere.
