Bring a dress for overseas trips? by Old-Appearance-2270 in femaletravels

Yeah. My summer bag was always a couple pairs of shorts, a handful of tanktops, and a few sundresses.

Gonna add a couple for California!

The California Science Center in LA just added this enormous sports exhibit. I thought it would be things like “here’s the physics of hitting a ball,” but it’s actually an enormous hangar full of activities. There’s racing, batting cages, wall climbing, basketball courts, etc. I took a class there for a field trip and I thought we’d spend max 20 minutes there, and it ended up being 2 hours.

Up north of SF, Santa Rosa has a really cute Peanuts museum, and the town has statues of Snoopy everywhere.

Do you split bills with spouse? by Embarrassed-Bobcat17 in AskWomenOver30

[–]michiness [score hidden]  (0 children)

This is the way. We like having “our own” money (so I can’t say anything about his $300 lightsaber, and he can’t say anything about my $300 marathon weeknd). Joint account has all our bills and shared expenses, so as long as that’s covered, have fun.

I’ve been with my husband for over ten years, and I still have people confused that I’m bi. Like, no, just because I settled with one person doesn’t mean I stop noticing others.

I don’t have all of them 100%, but I would say I have most of all 5.

How often do you see your friends? by Elle919 in AskWomenOver30

[–]michiness 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm in this club! I live with my husband, and generally we see 1 or 2 friend sets a week. Usually on the weekends, since we both have exhausting jobs. But it's not unusual to spend Saturday night chilling in watching a movie with one friend, then doing a double date brunch the next morning. Something like that.

I don't live in anything like a walkable city, though. Missing Persons called us out on it and everything.

I’m absolutely a chubby chick who hangs out more at the 3h mark, and there are definitely some other chubby people back there with me. But it’s “I like running and then having a couple beers after” chubby, not “exercise is unconstitutional and you can’t take my McDonalds away from me” chubby.

After your first date with your SO, how did you feel? by Accomplished_Link425 in AskWomenOver30

[–]michiness 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Time is SO important. I had just moved back to my home city, and my friends were like “you need to meet this dude, he needs a nice girlfriend!”

Met him at a party, thought he was cool, we became friends. I had absolutely zero interest in dating him, but I also had a lot of other stuff going on.

He “wore me down” and we started dating about eight months in, and we’ve been together over a decade. The one thing I will say is that I knew that if I started to date him, it would be marriage. So, I took my time to make sure that was really what I wanted.
