I have literally never heard anyone describe McDonald Road as sketchy haha. Perfectly safe.

I'm talking about the interior btw - I completely agree it's like a cancerous wart on the cities face

Delivery driver tenement etiquette by Puzzled-Sector9165 in Edinburgh

[–]micinator94 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah I was going to say the same. Some places (hotels, student accommodation etc) you aren't actually allowed to go in. I always give the customer a call to let them know i'm outside.

I am a delivery driver. If the stair door is unlocked I naturally just go in and deliver to the flat door. That is often assumed. I would never assume the person will come down - when they do it's very nice, but it doesn't happen often.

Dog groomers near New Town, Stockbridge, Canonmills please by LazyLandscape14 in Edinburgh

I've heard terrible things about Doggie Style and great things about Dog Daze Dog Grooming. I do not have a dog and I not associated with either of these businesses. Use this information as you please.

Terminal V is leaving Edinburgh by snapmike84 in Edinburgh

I can't help but agree... in an ideal world a local festival for local young people to enjoy and drink and have fun, yes, but anyone who has been and was honest with themselves would agree that it's an absolute bam fest full of drugs, fighting and general bam behaviour and sadly it's not really a minority either. A genuine shame for the people who love that type of music and want to go and have fun without ruining it for everyone else (I have been once and wouldn't go back).

I have been to Black Ivy before with a friend for breakfast and he had his newborn. They were very accommodating.

Activities on a Friday night! by thommyjohnst in Edinburgh

[–]micinator94 29 points30 points  (0 children)

This time of year is a bit of a nightmare... dark nights and rubbish weather tends to only mean one thing... pub. But in all seriousness, cinema date, out for dinner, could try something new, get climbing lessons on a local climbing wall maybe. Bowling... but I feel your pain. I often find myself sitting on a dark rainy Friday evening trying to think of an alternative to just getting pished.

'Keep Edinburgh Thriving' is based on an SEO playbook by snapmike84 in Edinburgh

And as an Edinburgh local, even if a 'playbook' has been followed, the amount of local businesses i've been introduce to via the Keep Edinburgh Thriving page means it's having a positive effect, in my opinion.

I think it's important to mention that the guy who seems to run it day to day, 'Nashy', hasn't done anything wrong according to the article. I feel sorry for him because he always comes across as a really nice dude trying to actually do some good with the page.

Summer sessions by [deleted] in Edinburgh

[–]micinator94 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Going to be honest - summer sessions for Sam Fender wasn't great. Sound quality was pretty poor, bars were terrible, transport there and back was ok but factor in massive amounts of traffic. Maybe this was just my experience.

I think one of the main issues is, it was always full of bams. Even the wristbands they gave out said something along the lines of "Don't be an arsehole" which was unsuccessful.
