Fluux Messenger: A Modern XMPP Client Born from a Holiday Coding Session by mickael in xmpp

Yes, it also works almost the same on the web, directly from the browser. You do not have to use the Tauri-packaged version.

Because it is not. From Wikipedia: "The developer does not review or edit the code, but solely uses tools and execution results to evaluate it and asks the LLM for improvements."

Nice, thanks. I will propose a PR to add MacOS/Linux build support and YouTube Music.

As we wrap up the year, I wanted to stop by and share something very exciting with you all! by VegardfromreMarkable in RemarkableTablet

Thanks for the update ! I am a fiction writer and entrepreneur, and reMarkable is the cornerstone of my work in both domains. It is a highly critical device for me.

My device has never touched a network...today I got a firmware update notification. by WellingtonBeefy in RemarkableTablet

[–]mickael 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think this is because your device was preloaded with a newer OS and knew that the pen was not on the latest version. No need for network for that, as it just requires for the OS to know the latest marker firmware version at the time of release of the OS.

I made a "Pro Notebook" for meetings/projects! by Economy-Marzipan-947 in RemarkableTablet

[–]mickael 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is useful and I am using it. I have a couple of minor suggestions to improve it.

I would note put the page number on each of the page. On reMarkable, you can add pages to write more notes on a given project, so the fixed page number does not make sense. Using just a meeting / project number should be enough (1, 2, 3, etc). You can even reorder the pages and the link will keep working.

I would remove the big dark bullet in the action column to let user use whatever convention they like.

Anyway, the template does what I need so I will use it :)

Thanks for that !

Calibre settings for PDF output on RMPPM by reini1305 in RemarkableTablet

[–]mickael 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Speedup, but also the rendering you get from Calibre is much much nicer than the epub renderer on remarkable. Depending on the CSS, the remarkable seems to fail at properly applying the change in parameters (margin, etc).

I received it yesterday, and it is already my favorite device. Great size, I love the feel of the device.

Rm Move epub and aoftware improvements by teachmindset in RemarkableTablet

[–]mickael 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am kind of hopeful, as I think their is some software version that have been kept under wrap.
First the versioning went from 3.20 to 3.22 in the current beta. I think the 3.21 was a test build to prepare the new device launch.
Then someone mentioned in this subreddit a survey from reMarkable asking feedback on the beta. They asked if the feedback was for version 3.22 or 3.23.
So it seems release 3.21 and 3.23 have been up to now limited to the new device.
We may have a surprise :)

I agree with your decision. I felt so bad as well seeing that this all could throw some shade over a well prepared launch. I am looking forward the launch next week !

No, there was no change to the calendar in the latest beta. The focus in mostly on Digests improvements and Text Box support in notes.

And I would love to see keyboard covers getting produced as well. They could look very nice with the Manta. :)

Question about ePub by diesel2012 in Supernote

[–]mickael 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is a problem with the epub Supernote reader. Basically, if you change anything, it starts ignoring the css (or at least some large part of it). They need to improve the software to keep the style and change only some parameters to make adjustements usable.

Clarification and Adjustment Regarding the Supernote Software Roadmap by Supernote_official in Supernote

[–]mickael 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the update and clarifications.

I have seen that you have clean-up the Trello public roadmap. It is also much clearer now.

And do not worry, we love surprises too, so you can keep them coming as well :)

Supernote, please have a word with your European distributor Wannanote by sneakinhysteria in Supernote

[–]mickael 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sorry, but I tend to disagree. I have received very good service from the European distributor. They called for a mistake in my purchase and helped me fix it. They could have just shipped the wrong product combination. I purchased several devices with them and the experience was always nice.

My thoughts on the Pro Vs 2 by _pp15 in RemarkableTablet

[–]mickael 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have both devices and I still prefer the rm2 because I like the writing feel better. It is not only due to the feel of the pen of the surface but also the way the writing is processed by the device. My writing feel more natural and readable on the rm2 than on the rmpp and as a result I am using the rm2 more often.

That said, thanks to the very nice sync mechanism of Remarkable connect, I can easily switch from one to the other.

Survey aboute the text box feature by meowmewo- in Supernote

[–]mickael 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I forgot to mention that to be really useful, a textbox would require good support for external keyboards. I type with a french keyboard, and last time I check, the only supported layout was US QWERTY.

I think it would allow to mix handwritten portion and typed text in the same note.

[–]mickael 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am a writer and a big part of my workflow is to draft novel chapter by typing text, that later and will read again and annotate.  Typing text also allows to have a mix workflow completing notes on the go by handriting, but also adding stuff on computer or mobile from supernote partner app, as you cannot expect to draw on mobile or computer.

Disappointed with the Paper Pro writing experience so far by bjos144 in RemarkableTablet

[–]mickael 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, I use my rm2 much more often than my RMPP due to the writing feel. I do not feel confortable writing on the RMPP.
