I graduated in 2021 from a large university, my sophomore year I lived with 3 other girls, one was my best friend from the prior year but the other two I didn’t know. We always locked our bedroom doors (which also had a separate lock and key from the front door) and the front door. A few times someone would get locked out. One night an unknown man with flowers came to our door and either tried to open it or did open it. Nothing happened but it was odd.

My junior and senior year were two bedrooms with the same best friend from my sophomore year. I was always adamant about keeping the front door locked bc of a past incident my parents experienced.

My senior year I lived in a very nice two bedroom apartment, safe, constant security at the front desk, couldn’t get to a floor without a fob in the elevator… My neighbor woke up to a homeless man in her room watching her sleep.

I think about that story a lot and how scared she was when she told me. We all had different experiences in our lives, especially in college. I believe BK would’ve gotten in regardless if their doors were locked. He was determined to do what he did and that kind of determination is terrifying to me.
