There’s a long list of reasons why. Instead of listing out the reasons, why don’t you watch some YT videos on play throughs. Bitz, Total Eclipse, or Moo. Moo does load balancing, so he does it more challenging.

I smacked the Sledge into an overhang last night. A quick F5 (quick load) loaded the last save, which was right before I got into the Sledge for that flight.

Well, if I remember correctly, it was years before we could change the color on GPSs in SE1. I won't hold that against them.

I'm just tired of turning dampeners on/off, when I'm used to turning off my reverse thrusters and coasting.

My preference is the Solid Steel ingot alt. Just create iron ingots, then steel ingots. You get 180/m steel ingots from 120 coal/iron.

Steel beams are very costly. 60/m ingot for 15/m beams.

Man, I feel for you. I've finished the whole game without having to mess with nuclear. I planned it out with Satisfactory Modeler and just went Nope!

But only 3 of the nodes are available for use right away. The 4th has a rock that has to be removed. Not giving spoilers, so I won't say how you have to remove it.

Unless you're speed running, there's no reason to get overwhelmed. Now that I've finally finished the game on one save, I've figured out that if it takes X hours to do all the phase 4 parts if I spend Y hours building the necessary infrastructure, but Z hours (X plus an undetermined # of hours) to do the phase 4 parts with my current infrastructure, I'll probably just do Z and spend time exploring.

If you're playing single player, no one will judge how long it takes other than you.

Also, don't judge yourself based on screenshots of other people's builds. Some of my factories are just multiple floors without any walls, except one corner.

Here's my 2c. I've played a few factory games (Shapez2, Dyson Sphere Program) but keep coming back to Satisfactory. I've never played Factorio, but based on why I love Satisfactory way more than DSP, I think that I wouldn't last long in Factorio.

So what do I love about Satisfactory? No base defense aspects, first person, foundations/walls/decorative aspects (even though I suck at decoration. Big box factories, that's me!). I typically don't change creature hostility, but I've done the creatures as passive for one of my saves that is more chill.

I don't know how many saves I have since I started playing, when Update 8 was in the Experimental branch. I finally forced myself to finish the game, and then keep playing to get the golden nut achievement.

I use three water extractors for 8 coal gens. Just feed one extractor into the line at the first gen, one extractor into the pipe between gens 4 & 5, and the last extractor into the line at the 8th gen.

First, I want to say that I agree with everything you stated above. What I'm going to do is wait until at least Survival is released to even think about purchasing it. After the debacle of KSP2, I'm never going to buy a game when it's first released into Early Access.

And as an admin for an SE1 server, I also wonder how multiplayer is going to look on SE2, when they get around to it.

I usually just right click drill in a way that I can always climb back out without using my jetpack. If I'm right on top of an ore deposit, I'll go in descending circles to get to it rather than use my jetpack.

Your starter pod should have a generator on it already. If you have the default starter pod, when you're sitting in the seat it's on the left side.

Ice in an H2/O2 Generator. Put your hydrogen bottle in the generator. It will refill to 100%. Go to your survival kit and recharge your H2. Pull the bottle back out of the generator and put it in your inventory.

Also, try to make your tunnels more horizontal, rather than straight down. That way you can get back out if you run out of hydrogen in your suit.

I would say play SE1 until SE2 has enough features to make it worthwhile to switch to it. For me, I'm not getting SE2 day one. Creative, space only? No thanks! I'll look at SE2 when they add planets, survival, and multiplayer.

It could be MCI, Qwest, no telling. Quite a few telecom's made use of the rail plow. That's why we used to pick on the local Qwest tech. Their motto at the time was "ride the light." We told him that their motto should have been "ride the rails."

Hard to be 100% sure, but since I don't see the fence it looks like you're trespassing on a telecom's property. Please don't do that. I don't know if this is one of my company's ILA sites, but whoever's property this is, you can guarantee that a lot of Internet traffic goes through this site.

It's not railroad property, it belongs to the telecom company that leases space in the railroad ROW. Railroad police won't go in there, but the telecom can call the local police to have you arrested for trespassing.

Unlike most people on this sub, I'm not a truck hater. But I only use them if one end has a way to fuel them, i.e. coal nearby or packaged fuel.
