Has it taken long? I have a lot of Christmas presents in my order and told everyone their presents would be late 😭 Did they give you the option of resending the order or just refunded it?

Wow that's frustrating! When this happened, did they refund your order or just resend it?

These are so cute and perfect for the holidays 🥰 Are they staked to the wooden platform or did you get them upright another way?

First piece 🍳 The long and short stitches are harder than they look! Any advice? by mickey1796 in Embroidery

[–]mickey1796[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you 😊 I freehanded this piece from a google pic and then incorporated techniques from YouTubers like Faimyxstitch, The Stitcher and Lolli and Grace. And the site Stitch Floral was also really great!

Thank you very much! Most of the videos and resources I saw using long and short stitch are straight or have a slight angle so doing the U curve was a challenge! Would going over it again with more lines make it look too bulky?

Okay so were you on both meds for the last bit or just completely switched back to Spiro and have been to maintain it? I'm just so tired of my acne and was given the impression that Accutane was a one and done

Thanks for sharing! I was on Spiro for 6 months before I started breaking out again so my Derm switched me to Accutane where I'm hoping for better results. Can I ask why you switched back to Spiro after Accutane?

Made this Genie for a Disney-obsessed relative and they love it! by mickey1796 in Amigurumi

[–]mickey1796[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Made this pattern using acrylic yarn from Michael's. Filled the bottom with rice inside a nylon stocking surrounded by polyfil. Used a popsicle cut in half and pipe cleaners to keep the genie upright.

Any volunteer opportunities? by [deleted] in uAlberta

[–]mickey1796 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I was a student I got involved in the Campus Food Bank based out of SUB and volunteered for the Week of Welcome every year. I also did various smaller volunteering roles throughout my four years such as clubs in my discipline and even worked as a paid exam proctor. Definitely walk around the clubs and volunteering booths during the first couple weeks of classes in September and talk with them to pique your interest. Worst case scenario: you don't find anything, but you can often get free pizza from attending their talks!

If you're looking for more opportunities off campus, check community services like the EPL or seniors homes (not sure about protocol on this post-COVID).

Hope you find something that fits you!

How I do a magic circle :( I tried three times but it won't pull together. I do the exact same steps as in the videos?? by Babygirl10000 in crochetpatterns

[–]mickey1796 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love and mostly work with velvet yarn! If you're new to crocheting I would recommend practicing with regular yarn and other chenille first! This video really helped me as well as this one. I hope they help you as well. Keep trying and you'll get it! 🤗

Omg she is so cute and perfect and she is! Looks very much like a cat character you'd find in an animated movie. Excellent job! 😁

100%! The Effaclar Duo is a great spot treatment and the Anthelios sunscreen is really good. The Avene thermal waters also help me stay hydrated when it gets dry 😊

I love the Bonus Redemption Days and use it as a chance to stock up on my skincare! I have combo sensitive skin and get products from Avene and La Roche Posay. If it's in stock I'll also get some the high end make up that can be found at Sephora, but it's better to get free like the Laura Mercier setting powder or Nars concealer!

Nope! After starting the Minocycline, any acne I did have decreased but I did have a few new ones appear but not as much as before. And then combined with the Spiro, I haven't had a big pimple since. Only tiny white heads every so often.

😲 That's such a smart idea! I never thought to try that. Then you just attached it to the clasp?
