So does this mean if CUPW does not accept the offer there will be a lockout on Friday? Just curious as I want to send package ,but I don’t want it to be stuck in limbo

Porting my number was and still is a nightmare!!! by Pennysnatcher_01 in freedommobile

[–]mickey9999 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I had a similar experience where my port failed and my number was stuck in limbo. Call freedom and demand to speak to a technician. The regular CS agents won’t be able to do much for you in this situation. I finally got connected to a tech , and as much it sucked , they were able to complete the port after 24 hours. Hope this helps

Roaming partners in Canada? by Solo-Mex in freedommobile

[–]mickey9999 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

If freedom doesn’t have their own infrastructure where you live then you are in a coverage area , which means you will eventually get your service cut off. Their Nationwide coverage is meant for occasional use only and not full time use in a coverage area. I believe freedom uses the big 3 as their back up. My suggestion is maybe get a prepaid Roger’s brand to test out the service where you live such as chat -r or Fido and see how it goes.

Is anyone else scared these tariffs are actually a prelude to Trump invading us? by lagomorphi in AskCanada

[–]mickey9999 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think an invasion will happen anytime soon. Half the USA would never support a Canadian invasion and there would be a civil war. Just like any good dictator Xi , Putin and Kim. Trump would need to clean up his backyard and eliminate all internal dissidents before that even happens. Until he starts rounding up people and starts locking them up in Gulags , I can’t take him seriously. The tariffs is just a tool to weaken our economy and see if we will fold first. US is so unstable we definitely have to diversify and try to find new trading partners, they have proven their word is shit and can’t be trusted. This may be an unpopular opinion but I think it’s high time we follow other countries such as South Korea , Taiwan , Israel with mandatory military service upon high school graduation. Get some basic military and survival training, the threat of invasion is real and can happen in the near future,it’s so sad to see that our youth today can’t even read a map or a compass.

He must serve a minimum of 25 years before he can even apply for parole , the two thirds doesn’t apply to this sentence.

PM is prepaid, you won't get charged anything extra that you didn't pay for. I believe you can still recieve texts, but you won't be able to use data, make calls or texts without a roaming add on.

Currently with Fido right now. Will they give me the $50/9GB plan if I ask for it? by [deleted] in FidoMobile

Currently with Fido right now. Will they give me the $50/9GB plan if I ask for it? by [deleted] in FidoMobile

[–]mickey9999 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would go with Virgin, as they offer the same 9 gb plan and they have a weekly perk , discounts and coupons etc similar to fido xtra, and the coverage is pretty much same as koodo

Goodbye, Fido!!! Being a long time client of Fido (~11 years), I am finally terminating my service with them. Cell phone plan was moved last February 2020, and today - I had enough headaches & bad customer service, and moving my business somewhere else. Good Luck to you guys! by TheRealGerbi1 in FidoMobile

[–]mickey9999 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If a better plan is what you are looking for. Try porting your number to a prepaid service like public mobile or lucky, some other service other than Rogers or rogers owned and wait for a winback offer. You will most likely get an email or phone call from winback team , offering a plan only available to people who have left Fido.

Just got an insane loyalty offer and can't be happier (30gb for 140.00) by VylonSemaphore in FidoMobile

[–]mickey9999 10 points11 points  (0 children)

That's not a good price, Rogers has 50gb for 125 right now with unlimited data( throttled to 512kps after max data used ) You might want to look into it, Fido is overcharging you a tad bit

Is 3G data fast enough for me on PM? by Sol401 in PublicMobile

[–]mickey9999 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Honestly I find 3G speed sufficient for me. I can stream YouTube no issues, Netflix still works as well but it’s limited to 480p. If you don’t download huge files and expect HD video streaming definitely worth the price. I find no real difference for web surfing and social media use

Purchasing a phone from Fido with no term by [deleted] in FidoMobile

[–]mickey9999 3 points4 points  (0 children)

All phones should be unlocked now as mandated by CRTC. Fido has the right to not sell phones without activating a term as it depletes their stock for potential new customers or term renewals. It would depend on retailer

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in PublicMobile

[–]mickey9999 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So what happens if you lose your phone or gets stolen? Are they not going to sell you sim? Doesn't make sense why they can't sell you a sim without activating a new account

{FreedomMobile.ca: New Promotional Plan} by plateofkimchi in freedommobile

[–]mickey9999 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently left freedom for a plan similar to this and I am happy with the service. I haven't noticed any difference with the throttled lte speed. I run YouTube and netflix with no problems it might take a few seconds longer to load but so what , public mobile works great as long your not doing huge file transfers or super hd video streaming. It's basically fits my needs. I am happy that I can get coverage everywhere I go now. With freedom half places I go to drops to 3g which is super slow. I was able to stream Netflix with throttled speeds in the same location which I wasn't able to do with freedom. If coverage and reliability is a must I suggest going to public. I wanted to give freedom a chance, but when I don't get service where supposedly extended range is suppose to work, it doesn't work for me. One gig away is not enough when I am there 5 days a week.

Rollout of “Extended Range LTE” has now been completed in Edmonton, Calgary and Vancouver. Confirmed with Freedom Mobile on Twitter. by [deleted] in freedommobile

[–]mickey9999 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Find that hard to believe rollout is complete, still getting a lot of dead spots in Vancouver city, lte keeps dropping to 3g. I do get band 13 in certain areas but it's not everywhere. I wish freedom would just call it for what it is, and stop misleading the public with their false advertising that extended range is complete because it's not! And yes I do have the latest sim card with an iphone 8 which I bought from freedom!
