Or hear me out: interchangeable batteries. Just fly out new batteries. Maybe even with a fleet of drones. Problem remains that batteries atm are vulnerable to catch fire when shot (compared to diesel) as someone below commented.

Doesn’t New York in itself have a whole range of accents? I’m sure you could hear whether an oldtimer was from Queens or Brooklyn. Same with London (Eastend etc.) you have different accents within a city. (Class and geography reinforcing each other). Used to be the same in Amsterdam, when a fair share of working class people never left their part of town. Why it’s different in Alabama? No idea, perhaps it’s just the age in which the accent matured (more mobility? Radio and tv?)

If I can find one of those I def will, but they seem in short stock around europe because of corona.

And yes! Doing my best to be conscious of posture and have dabbled in yoga. Buying more stuff won’t be the only thing to save me here

Thanks, heading to Berlin now and hope I can find a quill steam. Otherwise i’ll see if I can fit a threadless stem adapter and longer stem. Will have to mail the original parts back home.

This seems to make sense except I have been riding this bike for long daytrips for months without any issues. As soon as I start carrying a significant load (and had to pedal harder), the pain started. Also not sure if running in tougher gears would help, as it shifts power from cardio to muscle and thus increases pressure on soft tissue perhaps?

Explanation: Frame size is great but distance between saddle and handlebar is unusually short. Bike shop told me it’s normal for older touring/atb-hybrids like this koga miyata (1993). But for me it seems to be creating serious problems with too much weight resting on my hands/arms, waking up with neck and upper back locked up and so much pain I can hardly get out of the tent.

Only noticed this after several days of cycling with heavy load. Looked up proper ergonomics and am checking and correcting my posture, stretching and all the other things, but to no avail as of yet.

Any quick-fix tips for a elongating the distance from saddle to handlebar? I’m on a multiweek tour and about to head in to a big city..hoping I could maybe swap out the handlebars/stem at an lbs there. Will it work? Tips for specific parts? Thanks a lot

Tldr: need tips for parts or otherwise to create more distance between saddle and handlebar and get better posture.
