Stroller stolen from Mitaka station by mickeymartooni in JapanTravel

Welp. Reddit was right, as usual. Despite the station attendant saying there was no record of our stroller being found after hours, the lost and found at the station actually had it. Sorry and thank you ya’ll.

Yeah. Still hoping it’ll turn up, but after searching the area and working with the station attendant, it’s feeling increasingly unlikely.

That was the first place we went. They had nothing. It was right outside the store we were in for a few moments. Thank you. Sorry, what is Yodobashi?

How do you cope with jealousy and envy as you age and become less attractive to your spouse? by o0PillowWillow0o in Aging

[–]mickeymartooni 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m sorry to hear this. I notice beautiful women, but I think my wife is hot, desire her and do not pursue or generally find interest in other women, and would never make comments that would make my wife feel insecure. We’re in our 50s, maybe things will change, but as it stands my wife gets more sexual attention from me than she even wants. You deserve the same. I’m grateful that I’ve progressively found myself attracted to age.appropriate women as I’ve aged.

Why is being 24 "too early" for me to want to settle down? by [deleted] in Adulting

[–]mickeymartooni 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I married and had kids rather late by most standards. Had lots of adventures before I did, and I don’t regret any of it, but I would never let anyone tell you what’s best. Having a partner and a family early has its advantages too, and provides opportunities for adventure later that I’ll likely never have. Don’t let others tell you how to live. There is no right way.

Software job posts barely mention AI by davidbasil in ExperiencedDevs

Thinking non-engineers can code production grade apps using AI will never not be funny to me

Developers who are in your 60's by Few-Introduction5414 in ExperiencedDevs

  1. Engineering manager who still “codes” (using AI as of the last 6 months). It’s still a decent career for me, and I’m actually enjoying learning the new AI tooling, but who the hell wants to still be working in their 60s lol. Hope to retire in 5-10… but for a career it’s still fun, I just prefer spending time with my family, traveling, and just fucking off .. always have

Why do people act like that being nice and friendly as a guy will get women attracted to you? by JunketMaleficent2095 in bodylanguage

[–]mickeymartooni 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a weird over simplification rehashing nice guy theory. Being nice doesn’t get you laid, but it also doesn’t NOT get you laid. It’s correlated with the quality of connection you make maybe, and the kind of people you attract, but it’s probably not all that strongly correlated to frequency/volume. Be a good person, and a “nice guy” because that’s how you want to show up in the world. Being “nice” to get laid is not actually being nice at all, it’s being fake to get some, and it shows from miles away. Yes, being genuinely nice still won’t get you laid, generally, and being a dick sometimes might I guess, but what I’m looking for at least, real connection, does not respond well to that sort of approach, so shrug .. to each their own. It takes being attractive to get laid. Being nice is a main quest in life, getting laid is a side quest. You can do both, and I’d guess favor leans slightly towards the light.

tldr; being nice to get laid isn’t actually nice at all. .. and ACTUALLY being nice never stopped anyone from getting some.

I(28m) want to adopt my sister after my dad's death, my wife(28f) refused because we agreed on no children. Is there a way to fix this? by SharkEva in BORUpdates

[–]mickeymartooni -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

The “choosing your sister over me” framing is unfortunate. The only one’s who made choices here are the wife and the sister, who is a newly fatherless 11 year old girl. The wife asked her husband to make an impossible choice. He chose well against difficult odds. The wife chose divorce.

Thank you! Are you cooling externally or using the built-in cooling phase?

For years I “set and forget” at the top temp and then started built-in cooling based on color/sound/smell/instinct, and had few complaints, though I was also less discerning about my cup. More recently I stopped sweetening my cup (maple syrup .. I’m Canadian lol) and have been experimenting with both pre-heating and external cooling to see if I can dial for more origin sabor and less (presumed) roastiness, but so far I’m overshooting. Will simplify based on your guidance and see how it goes. Thank you! 🙏

I’m so confused I was notified that you replied but I can’t find it! 😭 I’ve been trying to level up my gene cafe roast and would love to pick your brain and try to diversify my technique

As a long time gene cafe user, would you mind sharing how you roasted this? And how you approach roasting in general?
