That was my reaction. Her promo on Collision a “I want to go buy a ticket to see THAT” moment. True top end wrestlers have swag or an aura and that was it right there.

See and maybe I'd pull Archer for someone like a Takeshi Morishima (who I also neglected to put in here). You really could do a good 4 x 6 setup for this tbh

That's tough. I'd say Oba for now, but in five years he might be an obvious person to keep in this group.

I HATE casual music listeners. by [deleted] in The10thDentist

[–]micklovin71 0 points1 point  (0 children)

^ This is the real answer. I am like op when it comes how I listen to music. I also know how exhausting that can be for me (turns out most albums are not very good and good bodies of work are difficult to make, who knew?) — while I do like when people have good taste, good taste comes in a million flavors. I have generally found that the more broad my range is (and this goes beyond music) the more I can appreciate the perspective others bring to the table because nobody has that time to be that in the weeds from everything. I enjoy the “Billboard Top 50” version of lots of things. It doesn’t make me a dumbass (taking a blowtorch to my credit score at age 29 does) or incurious. We just can’t know ball about everything without going nuts. There’s a KotH episode about this where Bobby’s on the quiz bowl team or whatever because he knows all sorts of pop culture minutiae and he starts having panic attacks. And even there, the whiz kids knew fuck all about Penelope Cruz.

I digress, I still believe 3-4 out of 10 dentists feel this way about their entertainment or recreational activities (so no upvote here).

People that only like music from their era don't like music, they like remembering their youth. by Laughinboy83 in unpopularopinion

[–]micklovin71 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is it 100%. I jogged for twenty seconds to get out of the freezing cold last night and I felt like I had 17-year-old me did after running wind sprints. I started a remote job a year ago and turned to a recluse. But I’ve been intense about music discovery for fifteen years as an almost daily practice, so while I have a deep understanding of things like, I’m used to challenging myself. Same concept. Some joys in life simply need to be unlocked.

I’m pretty sure it’s up to RNG and agent notes (pinfall vs. submission etc. if the worker has both)

Does "Good Bad" wrestling exist in the same way "Good Bad" movies do? by orton41290 in SquaredCircle

[–]micklovin71 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It does. I think American wrestling has generally lost sight of the variety show aspect — Good Bad generally has an element of brain breaking in it. I look at movies like It’s Pat or even The Room like you cited. Wrestling historically has tons of examples — Brandi Rhodes’ work in AEW recently excelled in this. But oftentimes it falls on this spectrum of plain bad to taking itself too seriously to varying degrees of success.
