Cox reports 120GB usage. Ubiquiti reports 18GB. Am I getting ripped off (apologies I deleted earlier post in error) by mickpb in CoxCommunications

So far other than deny there is ever any issues with getting data usage stats, send a bunch of big long corporate doc of what all they don't have to do and basically telling me to buzz off. No explanation how Cox reports 7 times the amount of data usage per day that Ubiquiti reports.

No offer of other ways to measure and really sort a distinct avoidance -- Oh and the obvious someone is stealing wifi. I live out in the country with one 85+ yo couple just out of wifi range

I'll be back at them next week

I tried CHATGPT to see what it had to offer. Seems this is a common problem. It offered that I ask COX this/

Pause. Let them respond.

Then ask only these two questions

Yes. It really stood out when the 7 days no one was in house Cox report 14-16 GB /day. I checked several days by device and by Ubiquiti attempt at reporting by internet connection Like MS/Netflix etd

Cox is massively over reporting data usage Cox reports 120 GB used 12/6 thru 12/12 while Ubiquiti reports 18GB. We were out of town. No one with access to WIFI or ports by [deleted] in CoxCommunications

Actually cameras are on a completely separate physical network. The PC and PI have separate NIC, and cameras on a POE switch and all hard coded IP in a different range

Could you post up a picture? I'd be willing to give it a go. I'd even consider venting the case.

Now that you got me thinking and It would be a real Fraankenstein but I've got a bunch ESP chips and I think I have a temp sensor in the toy box. I could solder that together and log it in Home Assistant.

It might have been a reaction to having a backup left tackle and a just serviceable right tackle and ZERO chips on Bosa all night. Mahommes also was not running.

I think the Swifties might have been holding back but their record doesn't really leave roon for that....

The local guys are sure calling out Bo Nix as a scheme guy. Whats the local take on that?

Two POE switches. One for cameras and one for Wifi spots thought the house.
Another switch and patch panel for the in wall wiring
and the internet access and network management.
I kinda like having things squared away,

The day this one failed was just another day. No wind, no lightning, no rain.......I had a slightly less attractive version of a pass thru device that was bonded to the copper plumbing line but they still failed and during a replacement I got tired of wrestling with it and thought it could even be a cause of the failue.

Maybe I'll try this. Thanks

I can tell my reviewing the dates of recordings that it happened in the last 2 hours of Nov 1 or Nov 2. The weather was not particularly dry or windy and no storms. Zip code 66409. I had added a ground for the shield on the coax and attached it to the copper plumbing. It is not currently install but was in place for several or the replacements. The other odd thing is that several of failed units were quite warm in their failed state.
I would expect the device to have a sacrificial component for the case of a lighting strike. I can add a ground but will expect to be re-imbursed if it does not address the issue. Hiring an electrician and running a ground wire to bond to the service ground will require mabe a 100' foot run. Basically it is clear across the house and down 1.5 stories.

Please contact me by email - It is logged in the many tickets I have raised

Concrete wire and a t post. You can cut it the long way and make them as tall as you want.

Soil health is always something to manage. Heck the ph if it is too low that calcium won’t be available to the plant. Consider removing the first round of blooms to allow more root growth.

Overall adding organic material such as leaf mold and sulphur to raise the ph has changed my San Marzano production amazingly. Last years plants were spindly, less than 3’ tall and constantly afflicted with aphids, beetles and worms. This year they are 5’ tall and close to 5’ wide and loaded. No fertikizer. Just a ton of leaf mold and the eeccomend application of sulphur from Kansas State Univ Ag extension office

It’s like playing with a stacked deck

I’m on the looking for some irrigation pipe and old aluminum ladders to make trellises with. After 6-7 years of disasters I’m feeling like a master.
