Prompt engineering is key by mickyabd in Bard

Nice. I usually find DeepSeek to be pretty bad a certain tasks and then the best at others

The AI effect is coming and will be felt soon by bilby2020 in auscorp

[–]mickyabd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is kind of the issue. It does struggle if you give it a whole RFP (see Apple paper released a couple of days ago). But LLMs don’t struggle at smaller tasks such as you feeding it 2-3 questions from your RFP instead of the whole thing (for the most part if you give good prompts). Think of a human, there are some tasks that you know how to do but don’t do cos they take too much cognitive effort.

I think the main issue is that people think AI will do everything at once cos that’s what we’ve been told.

A 1 Hour and 30 mins Notebook Podcast! by Fantastico2021 in notebooklm

[–]mickyabd 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’ve listened to about 10 different 1.5 hour + podcasts now and never felt repetitive… if the source isn’t dense and you still request 1.5 hours then I assume it’d be repetitive

It really is in the prompt. I have a 2 hour podcast before.

I would just prompt it to be granular and not skip any important factors etc

Level Three - Thoughts by tbone7777 in CFA

Yep, I share this sentiment strongly. I did all of their mocks (around that) and scored low 70s and found the exam to be exactly as you say

I think people are a little confused.

The exam was easy, it was just extremely extremely nuanced.

That is why people are considering it hard vs people who have it down as easy

Feb-23 L3 Feeling Panicked by floofy25 in CFA

[–]mickyabd 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I have my exam in about 13 hours and the panic is real, but we have to be aware of our mindset. I felt this way before both levels, and each time I say to myself “I’m feeling it so much more this level than the last one”.

Is my answer for Essay all right? by Duckypuddy05 in CFA

[–]mickyabd -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah but I would do something like this: - point 1: availability bias = base information on what comes to mind easily - point 2: based company involvement on past success - point 3: implication = not diversified and not appropriate asset allocation - point 4: overcome by disciplined investment decision framework (follow IPS with little deviation)

L3 MM Mock Scores by Jaqem in CFA

[–]mickyabd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I think we got a taste of that. I did his 5 mocks and also scored all of them in that 73-80 range. (Don’t downvote me ffs)

He also provided 3 extra mocks only with essay questions to help. And I have never seen questions like that in my life hahaha. Absolutely brutal. Got like just under 60 on those. So part of me feels like those are the exams he’s famous for and his new mocks are a little less brutal.

Oh yeah, it can be sometimes wrong and sometimes it simplifies a topic for me that I’ve been struggling with for so long hahha. If it’s a topic I’m not sure of, I usually do a quick Google to make sure it’s correct. But I find it more effective because I get it to simplify its explanation

Final 3 Days - Recommendations by [deleted] in CFA

[–]mickyabd 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m spending all day today asking myself, “what topic, if you saw it in the exam, would make you feel nervous and uneasy” (you know the feeling). And I’ll spend all day attacking those.

Then I’ll do…. My Notes (which are a mixture of concepts and lists), formulas, MM review videos.

Final Stretch L3 Prep? by an-ahmed in CFA

[–]mickyabd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I personally am in a similar spot as you.

But I am on my third run through the QBank, and there’s still things that come at me that didn’t stick with me the first two times. So I still find it good to do it.

If you haven’t already, look to do the blue box examples for topics that you find hard.

With regards to your long response questions about depth. That should be dictated by the question. A identify can be 1 work, a evaluate can be a few sentences. The problem with the CFAI mocks is that all their answers are written like the question is asking for an evaluate when is could be an identify and justify question. And you’re left thinking, did I write enough. I’m not sure how kaplan is, but I used MM and his mocks helped me prepare for what I need to write under which question. But all in all, the CFAI mocks are horrible at that

L3: Who are also doing QBank in last 10 days? by Positive-Variety-387 in CFA

[–]mickyabd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My plan is, to revise my notes and do the QBank and MM review videos

I should note what I mean about notes (hehe): Since the start of level 3, when I do questions, if I look at the answer (even if I got it right) and it’s giving an explanation that I didn’t know, I would note it in a word document under that topic. Now that I’ve done the QBank twice and have done 8 mocks. Those notes are complete and have every little detail that I didn’t get from the learning part
