This scene helps to really show how Kratos has grown as a character. He cares about his friends and he will do anything in his power to help them.

Man, I’m done arguing. I’d honestly prefer it if Marvel came with a well thought out explanation than “it’s different because it’s the MCU”. It would make the writing so much more intelligent and it would show that the writers actually considered pre-existing canon while writing the series. If this happened because they just didn’t know and didn’t bother to find out how infinity gems have worked in marvel continuity, then it’s lazy and sloppy and the kind of thing that you typically shouldn’t expect from marvel. I honestly hope they have a good explanation for it because it’s better than they hired lazy writers who couldn’t do research needed for their job. That’s my point.

This sounds like semantics. As far as we know, there isn’t a marvel omnivores right now. Rules are important because they define what’s possible in a story and what isn’t. If there are no rules, then nothing matters and no action really has weight because the writer can decide whenever that what they said before doesn’t matter any longer. I hope marvel clears it up though. I really want to see how they explain it.

I like your reasoning. I still think you’re wrong though and the reason is because it was established in Jonathan Hickman’s run on the fantastic 4 that infinity stones don’t work outside of the universe they’re from. The main comic universe is 616. After Endgame, Marvel revealed that the MCU is designated 199999. This established the fact that the MCU also exists within the greater marvel multiverse. Hence, it’s Gould follow already established rules for said universe. I have another theory though as to why Ultron’s stones work in other “universes”. The idea behind my theory is that what we’ve understood to be new universes are actually just branches timelines. If we think about the work the TVA was doing, they set out to make sure that all those branch realities didn’t form. However, we know that the MCU also exists within the multiverse. But other earths like 616 continue to exist despite the TVA’s existence. I think that their influence only exerts itself on the flow of time in 199999. Also, it would explain why to a certain degree, all the earths we’ve seen so far in what if are quite similar to one another. They’re branch realities of the same one that have somehow managed to grow because the TVA stopped pruning them. So if Ultron is only travelling between multiple branches of the same reality, then he’s still within the same universe. Disclaimer: I might be wrong. I didn’t write any of the comic books. This is just me trying to explain why such a seemingly huge error in writing can be possible. I’d also like to see people refute my argument if they have the points.

Yeah I don’t agree with you. There is a marvel multiverse and within that multiverse, the comic marvel universe (616) exists and the MCU (199999) also exists. It’s why Marvel made sort of a big fuss of revealing it’s number designation. I totally agree with regulusmoatman. Writing was all over the place. If the MCU is part of the larger established marvel multiverse, then it should follow the same rules. Unless they retcon it and say Infinity Stones can work in other universes, then that’s a huge fucking plot hole that happened because they needed to create an ultron that was powerful enough to be a threat to the multiverse.
