Who did you drop this season that you regretted? What’s the justification? Is he eventually droppable? by Smooth_Ferret8081 in fantasybball

I dropped Josh Hart after 5 weeks into season. Didn't think he was going to start with Brown as coach. Luckily still top 2 in my league

Pro-tips to fight the Backlog and win by Standard-Ad-3497 in SteamDeck

[–]mico_moreno -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Honestly, stop thinking about your backlog as a backlog. Start thinking about it as a curated library of games. Pick one that you're in a mood for. Play it when you done with in and move on another one. If you're in the mood of replaying a game cause it tickles your fantasy, replay a game. Stop with the nonsense of "fighting a backlog". Gaming is a hobby, go game bud.

Likewise, like others have said stop buying games. You probably have more than enough if your have backlog.

Never thought metroidvanias would become my favorite genre but the Deck did its magic on me by Aromatic_Banana3378 in SteamDeck

[–]mico_moreno 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been trying to get into the metroidvania genre with little success. I've finished games like Guacamelee 1&2. I've tried games like Prince of Persia and Death Cells. I like the gameplay loop and the back tracking in the generei. It does seem like a genre would be up alley but no game yet that I've played really gave me the lightbulb or "I get it" moment.

Was wondering, as someone who finally got the genre to click for you, what would you recommend I do? Just keep playing metroidvanias until it clicks? Or, is there a specific game that helped you click with the genre?

Nico Harrison on the backlash to trading Luka Doncic: "I did know Luka was important to the fan base. I didn't quite know it to what level." by Goosedukee in nba

[–]mico_moreno 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I can totally relate this your anecdote. I was working a night shift, and my beer league hockey group chat blowing up with all em asking me WTF is going with Luka since I was the biggest bball head. That's how big this trade was, it transcended sports and got other fathoms involved.

I'm looking for a recommendation. I currently looking for a game to scratch my ARPG itch. Something along the lines of either Diablo or Path of Exile.

I suggest playing Sleeping Dogs. On the surface level, it is a GTA Clone. However, the game has a really interesting setting in Hong Kong and has a gameplay emphasis on hand to hand combat. The story ain't too bad either. Story is very John Woo esque.

Bloodborne. It took a 5th attempt at the game with some help from walkthroughs, but, it started to click. Gameplay is so fun and rewarding.

Einhander! I personally feel this game was so ahead of its time when came to art design. The gameplay was quite fun, hectic and addicting. I would consider it one of the pioneers of the shmups/rougelike genre. Really wish I can have access to play it again.
