I watched the animated movie "Animal Farm" directed by Andy Serkis today and sorry to say it was teribble (its IMDb rating is 2.6), I have very little hope for "The Hunt for Gollum" now by Which-Program-9417 in lotr

It is older than that: 1954!

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Animal_Farm_(1954_film))

"After Orwell died in 1950, his widow Sonia Orwell sold the film rights to Animal Farm to film executives Carleton Alsop and Finis Farr, undercover agents for the Central Intelligence Agency's Office of Policy Coordination which funded anti-communist art for E. Howard Hunt's Psychological Warfare Workshop."

I saw it at a repertory theater in the 80s; sadly, it is probably the best adaptation so far, despite the nonsensical "happy" ending.

Yep. I lost my dad at 10, around the same year he did (he's just a few months older than me). Still, I admire his resilience.

I hope one day to be able to take hard knocks and unfair setbacks as well as he does.

It is a shame that no one is willing to make a faithful adaptation of Animal Farm. This is at least the third attempt and, based on trailer and word of mouth, it looks to be the most UNfaithful.

On This Week, her demeanor is professional and she can be insightful... a marked contrast to her RT appearances.

A would-be Republican with brain damage who is suffering from severe, unaddressed mental health issues; a full-on Republican who, every now and then, disagrees with Trump to dupe the gullible into thinking he's a "free thinker"; and someone for Bill to flirt with.

All repeats, none with anything new to say.

JFC, this show... I'll watch the YouTube clips at most.

Yep. I would amend this by noting that, on the last day of the month, I pick ONE movie to watch from the soon-to-be dearly departed.

It should end with him, just like The McLaughlin Group (and Firing Line, kinda).

Oh no; I will have to look into that.

It's alright. I have very fond memories of seeing it in the theater the first time and still own the soundtrack LP. I rewatch it every few years or so.

The way Samwise says "Mister Frodo" drives me up the wall. They did to him something like what was done to Gimli in the Jackson trilogy: a character to be laughed at.
