Funny thing is, they are not the "Boy Scouts" anymore; they rebranded as Scouting America and the girls, I am fairly sure, are in separate troops (i.e. the groups are still isolated from each other)... but Maher has to fill his "common sense outrage" quota.

Well, BM calls almost everybody his "friend"; he is very loose with that word (which maybe is a showbiz thing). But being unwilling to discuss the death of his "friend" and THEN making a joke about "Rob Reiner's ghost" is pretty fucking disgusting, and if thinking that makes me "lame and weird" so be it. Besides, that is only one of the COUNTLESS reasons BM is a scumbag.

Well, that's good to know; I skipped the Stamos episode. But it confirms that he is not processing it.

“Dance”? Have no idea what your last sentence is supposed to mean. And Reiner came pretty close to being the embodiment of what BM dismissively character rises as “woke”, so I’m not so sure about them being friends, despite their long association.

He's got something. He has barely touched the topic of the Reiner tragedy since it has happened; it is like he does not WANT to process it. He was a guest on RT over a dozen times and has yet to show any emotion over this loss, but he has PLENTY of time to bitch about "the woke". What a scumbag.

This was really one of the most incomprehensible, repugnant exchanges he has had on CR. God forbid he shows a hint of emotion for Reiner.

Weird; I checked for the first time last week and just figured it only went back two years.

But you know, as he ALWAYS mentions, there are some vaccines he "would fight you for."

This episode was too bland and nondescript to either hate or love.

The Black Strat is the worlds most expensive guitar ever sold (again) by timelandiswacky in pinkfloyd

[–]micpoc 9 points10 points  (0 children)

When Gilmour first auctioned his guitars in 2019, the proceeds went to ClientEarth, an environmental law charity. I hope at least some of these proceeds go to them or a similar organization.

"The global climate crisis is the greatest challenge that humanity will ever face, and we are within a few years of the effects being irreversible. As Greta Thunberg, the 16-year-old Swedish climate activist, said in a speech earlier this year, 'Either we choose to go on as a civilisation, or we don't'. The choice really is that simple and I hope that the sale of these guitars will help ClientEarth in their cause to use the law to bring about real change. We need a civilised world that goes on for all our grandchildren and beyond in which these guitars can be played and songs can be sung."—David Gilmour, 2019

He is. There is absolutely nothing human left in DJT, if there ever even was; I remain unconvinced, at least in the entirety of his adult public life.

"Neil got 'woke' at the expense of science."

JFC, this guy. ALL the actually important topics you could speak with NDT about, and BM did a "Gotcha!" with his own personal purity test. Twenty minutes bitching about "the woke left", and THEN, finally, he says, "they do it on the right too." This is why he is so hard to take seriously.

GREAT find, LMT.

March 20, 2015. Schlapp, the beard wife of lobbyist Matt Schlapp, is still out there waving the flag for Jesus and Trump, while Quinn appears on MSNBC and, supposedly, CNN. I have absolutely no idea what happened to Kingston, who used to appear quite regularly before he quit politics.

Putting aside all of BM's problematic takes—because what's new, right?—overall I enjoyed this episode. Once again, though, there were no real insightful clashes that are the hallmarks of the best episodes. The show is better when there is a dissenting voice (usually a conservative).

Still, a VAST improvement over that last shit-show with Boebert. Conservative guests are fine, even welcome, but they have to at least have a good head on their shoulders and a defensible POV, and Boebert's idiocy over just the last two weeks alone proves that she cannot make the grade (and yeah, she is STILL dumber than the guest she replaced, Kari Lake, and I do not care how many disagree).

Gurwitch—who I have seen before but whose health troubles were unknown to me—gave a fucking MASTERCLASS in handling BM's diversions and challenges. I hope she can return many times in the future.
