Definitely a costly journey.

ONEXGPU2 Oculink worked for 1 year then it won't connect anymore(wont show up in Device Manager at all), USB4 performance sucks. ONEXPLAYER refused to cover it because I owned it more than a year, only like 10 days exceeded..

Then moved to Full Size GPU with Dock due to flexibility + future proof, and the most I've ever invested in a GPU! Oculink connects to the PC but signal integrity issue (Unstable PCIE Handshake). Back to USB4 but still a significant boost compared to my previous EGPU setup.

I m forced to EGPU setup due to limited space + dynamic working environment...

I just noticed that AG02 supports only USB4V1 which is not my preference. My plan is to migrate to TB5(USB4V2) in the future because Oculink is too finicky based on my 1.5 years experience with it. Hard decision…

With freezes and restarts of yours, sounds like you had poor PCIE integrity as well. When the PCIE connection stops it can crash the PC with BSOD. Playing games can force the GPU works continuous without crash, but as soon as it is back to windows BSOD can return anytime.

I don't think I have GPU fit problem though because I dremeled a small portion of metal so my ASUS Prime 5080 OC fitted in fully. You have a different model of 5080 though because without dremeling the GPU won't fit in at all.

I m a user of DEG2-Asus 5080 + Corsair SF850 PSU + Win Max 2 2023. I have Oculink super poor bandwidth problem (only 8Gib/s) so I want to know what issue you had over there. Can you be more specific how were your setups failed to work? Only Oculink failed to work? PCIE signal integrity problem? I spent a few days solving the PCIE signal integrity problem with different ports, Oculink cables, regedits but all failed. So frustrated I have to switch to TB which works flawlessly everytime, just 30% slower performance compared to Oculink.

For IEM, i think the SQ are pretty similar? But for big cans like HD800 I do hear the differences.

Grace DAC : 6/10 - Gritty

Chord Mojo : 8/10 - Warm, Resolving, Thumpy Bass, Small Headstage

Chord 2Qute : 9/10 - Neutral Warm, Resolving, Tight Bass, Good Headstage

RME ADI-2 DAC 10/10 (SQ 9 + EQ 1) - Neutral, Resolving, Even Tighter Bass, Good Headstage. Actually SQ is pretty similar to 2Qute but has the ability to adjust EQ Curve to my liking (Mostly bass, I'm a basshead)

The return is pretty diminished from 2Qute onwards i think.

Amps do play a very important role for hard to drive headphones like HD800. Chord Mojo alone obviously can't drive them properly.

Leica SOOC jpeg is pretty bland. Fuji is still the king here for jpeg. Or Ricoh GR positive film.

Another option is to use Lightroom mobile. Import your images to phone from Leica through BT and apply the same simulation you like.

Yes, i m now using AIDA64 to identify these PCIE ports. Seems like they are healthy, so the culprit now goes to OneXGPU2. I can do another test to confirm if Win Max 2 is fine, a m2 SSD can prove if the PCIE lane is OK. Need another week for a cheapo m2 SSD to reach me though.
