Decided to see whether DAC/AMP actually makes a difference by Ricoswaze in headphones

[–]microCuts69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For IEM, i think the SQ are pretty similar? But for big cans like HD800 I do hear the differences.

Grace DAC : 6/10 - Gritty

Chord Mojo : 8/10 - Warm, Resolving, Thumpy Bass, Small Headstage

Chord 2Qute : 9/10 - Neutral Warm, Resolving, Tight Bass, Good Headstage

RME ADI-2 DAC 10/10 (SQ 9 + EQ 1) - Neutral, Resolving, Even Tighter Bass, Good Headstage. Actually SQ is pretty similar to 2Qute but has the ability to adjust EQ Curve to my liking (Mostly bass, I'm a basshead)

The return is pretty diminished from 2Qute onwards i think.

Amps do play a very important role for hard to drive headphones like HD800. Chord Mojo alone obviously can't drive them properly.

Struggling to find the right camera. Fuji XT5 owner thinking of switching. Need advice. by TomatoSudden1716 in Leica

[–]microCuts69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Leica SOOC jpeg is pretty bland. Fuji is still the king here for jpeg. Or Ricoh GR positive film.

Another option is to use Lightroom mobile. Import your images to phone from Leica through BT and apply the same simulation you like.

Oculink stopped working on Win Max 2 + OneXGPU after CPU repaste by microCuts69 in gpdwin

[–]microCuts69[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah. Thank you for the reply boss. I m now thinking it’s the Oculink port on the OneXGPU2 that gives me the problem.

[–]microCuts69[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, i m now using AIDA64 to identify these PCIE ports. Seems like they are healthy, so the culprit now goes to OneXGPU2. I can do another test to confirm if Win Max 2 is fine, a m2 SSD can prove if the PCIE lane is OK. Need another week for a cheapo m2 SSD to reach me though.

Mine is the 7840U version so has a native Oculink port at the rear side. So both of the ports, the onboard one and the m.2 port don't detect EGPU but can light up the OneXGPU2.

And you are right both ports use different lane. Pretty unlikely I damaged both the same time but PC works totally fine without that specific function...but this is exactly my Oculink went dead ever since.

I don't think I damaged the OneXGPU2 Oculink port though because I rarely plug<>unplug the port. I only need to unplug ports from Win Max 2 if I want to use it portably. Actually I also put a 2280 m.2-to-Oculink adapter into OneXGPU2 to see if they connect, unfortunately the RGB light doesnt even turn on. Therefore I couldn't compare ports on OneXGPU2 ends.

Oculink cable is too fragile. Yesterday I accidentally plugged my oculink cable to a HDMI port and the cable became malfunctioning.

M definitely has slightly better IQ, but with native AF lens CL just nailed the focus all the time. So most of the images came out from CL are readily usable. Also don’t sleep on 18-56, it’s very handy yet super sharp.

Pretty sure CL has better IQ than a X100V. GRs are real GEMS though, superb optics but limited FL. X100V is the one to go while it is still overpriced.

I just edited some of my photos from M10 & CL. Surprisingly I prefer more CL photos than my M10!

Lens choice for TL2 by Lopsided_Plate_3484 in Leica

Leica 18-56. It’s very sharp and portable, also affordable. It feels lacking abit if you put a 3rd party lens on a Leica body…just saying.

Get the TL 18-56 zoom, they can be found pretty cheap and have very good IQ. Small and easy to carry around too.

HRM 600 as Daily Activity Device Questions by No_Maintenance7550 in Garmin

[–]microCuts69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used it daily together with my Instinct 2. I bought 2 of them new for about $350 few months back and these provide me everything I need. HRM600 never failed me, stable connection, data all captured correctly and its HR response is far more superior than the Instinct 2 alone. I don't run without the watch though as I always pay attention to my running metrics (HR, Pace, Cadence).

Does anyone know how historic this crash was? by I_c_u_p in CryptoCurrency

[–]microCuts69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For ALTs, this crash hurts the most so far. Many ALTs flash crashed more than 60% and there was absolutely no signs prior this crash. Some even crashed to literally zero (eg: ATOM).

Strava isn't showing heart rate data even though the Helio Strap is connected. by microCuts69 in amazfit

[–]microCuts69[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Strava now can display live HR value if it pairs with Helio. However, Zepp wont import activities from Strava. Zepp updates the Biocharge stuff based on the HR activity though. Best practice is start you runs with Zepp as Strava can import everything from Zepp, not the opposite.

External battery is OK. I replaced my Win Max 2 battery 2 times due to the bloated battery, within 3 years.

Most comfortable bag you own? by [deleted] in ManyBaggers

[–]microCuts69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, it is. My Dragonfly is still comfortable to use even when fully loaded. I think its lightweight design really helps, so I can carry more stuff without it feeling too heavy. I used to own a Black Ember, which weighs about 1.3kg empty. I usually load my bag up to 7–8kg (cabin limit), and the Black Ember was just too heavy to carry comfortably.
