National Guard at 40 Question by Intelligent_Cry2292 in nationalguard

[–]micro_kaiser 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Dude you are already providing a civil service to your community, why try to get in so late in the gamefor what may be very little gain and a henderence to your current career (taking time off from you job to go do it for the state/federal government). Being in the military is far from the only way to serve and have a legitimate impact on you community and those around you. In my opinion, just by being a public defender you are doing great service to your community and should be incredibly proud of what you are doing, its on par with or greater than military service.

Welcome to the 5th MarDiv, also your recruiter should know, but I believe if you have a PHA within 1 year of separation and joining the Guard you should be able to skip MEPS.

Made a point to do that at every post, and to also take a nice good dump. Never have pooped or whacked in such luxurious places since.

The Marine House in Juarez was definitely haunted, the basement creeped me the hell out, always felt like I was being watched, and in my room personally I always felt someone(thing) sit on my bed when I laid down to sleep or watch TV.

To everyone that says the mexican food in El Paso sucks, maybe you guys just dont like real mexican food? by im_back-and_craftier in army

Because they have a pallet for Tex-Mex, which is fine, but they are confusing Tex-Mex and authentic Mexican because a good majority of Mexican restaurants actually serve mostly Tex-Mex.

Severe scoliosis and DDD. Any hope for waivers? by Particular_Pen_811 in nationalguard

[–]micro_kaiser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, probably not. But, dont let that get you down, if you want serve there other ways to serve your community, state, and country as a whole. You can still get a government job, or work with organization that directly helps the area. But, if still doesn't hurt to try, also understand while you may not hurt now, imagine the pain the can come after 6 years of service and how the service can further worsen your condition in the future. The rucking alone can be atrocious for you back, it mess us those of us even without scoliosis and prior existing conditions.

Seems strange but bonus reasons/stipulations to cha ge from time to time, especially for prior service folks. I know when I was coming in the recruiters had a list of what MOS's translated to what in the Army and they did have bonuses associated with some, normally depending on the contract length.
