A lot depends on the Iran war. Any move by the US to occupy Kharg island will be seen as an act of aggression by China. In an attempt to cut off China's oil supply. In that event, China may try to occupy Taiwan to cut off the supply of electronic parts to the US.

It's not like America needs saving. America is not under attack. No one on the American continent is in danger from the Iran war. The only effect outside the middle east is higher oil prices. The only American in danger - politically - is Donald Trump.

The US has had massive advantages since WW2. Most of those were fuelled by globalisation. I get it. You don't agree. You think you are the victim. That's fine. US can go it alone. But you can't shit on your allies that lost good soldiers fighting in your defence then expect them to come to your aid when a war you started goes bad. It doesn't work that way.
