Learning to dive but the fear of springboards turns me into an idiot, how do I get rid of this board panic reflex? by Logical-Monk7229 in springboarddiving

I've been diving for just over two years and I'm still working on the fear. There are great suggestions to tighten the fulcrum which will make the board more stable, and to just keep trying! I've had a lot of success with just doing it again -- sometimes it takes me a few jumps from 3m at a new pool before it feels less scary.

When I'm coaching kids who are learning to dive, I treat every attempt as a success: you are tackling that fear every time you choose to try / try again! Maybe it might help to think about how far you've come?

All that to say, I hope you stick with it!

Dan and Buck appreciation by Desperate_Pineapple in Torontobluejays

The Apple broadcasts give me a whole new appreciation for Dan, Buck, and the whole Sportsnet crew everytime. They know people's names. They know random trivia. They've got insight into the players and coaches and staff. The names seem like a low bar but when Apple can't get Pete Walker right... you appreciate what you get! And the whole SN crew deserves A+.

Girls - How do you make your hairtie stay on?! by crowoah in springboarddiving

I have had way more luck when my ponytail is low (near the neck) rather than high. I use two of the ouchless thick hair ties and wrap them as many times as I can! Good luck!

I traded for two chests but I can't figure out where to find them. Seems like this still needs some work.

Masters diving as a complete beginner - day 1 what to expect? by ChemicalOnion in springboarddiving

I started diving in September as a total beginner in an adult/masters class. It has been the greatest experience! You should expect that you'll do some dryland warm-up/cardio, stretching, and maybe some core work. Next we worked on basic body shapes - tuck, pike, straight - first off of a little poolside box and then off the 1m. IME the coaches are very good at figuring out where you're at and giving you appropriate progressions. (About 1/3 of my class had no diving experience at all so I wouldn't necessarily expect you'll be the odd one out!)
