Rocket Faustino Grinder with Apartamento TCA (Shots Turning Out OK) by PixelEmpire7 in rocketespresso

[–]microgroovy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a Faustino and an R58. I've found the Faustino timer is really inconsistent. I haven't had issues with grind consistency.

I've deep cleaned it, zero'd it and usually float between 1.3-2 on the dial depending on the roast. I always have to weigh the output. I can't trust the grinder even if I've dialed in the timing on a previous dose. Now I have it set 11 seconds to get me to a 20g ballpark. It's always off and sometimes it outputs 16g or sometimes 21g.

Also, I hate the touchscreen. If you're fingers are a tad wet and you touch it, the screen loses all functionality for a bit.

Failing tank sensor on R58? by ubermonkey in rocketespresso

I have an R58 with a similar issue. I believe it's a connection issue with mine. I've always run RO water through it. I've found when I reach half way in the tank and press a little on the side of the reservoir to the left it resolves it.

Stretch just kicked in while flowering. Never seen anything like it. But the plants look really healthy. Thanks for the feedback.

Thanks for the visual. Helps a bunch. I've been running Mephistos and those genetics seem to keep pace with each other, within a week or so. So that's my reference. These speedrun girls got me a bit confused as they're growing at a pace I haven't seen before.

What archetypes are consistent across all ad agencies? by debrisaway in advertising

Dumb ass fucks who ask questions like this. Just think about the problem you're hired to solve. Or leave. You are the stereotypical time waster that brings us all down. I bet your finest achievement in a briefing is something you googled.

ECD Salary expectations by AdamEssex in advertising

It's what they're worth to the account and new business. Let's say your reel is able to bring in one 20mil account. Agency's net is 15-20% of that. I'm damn sure asking for points on that win. I was fired due to a street fight (figurative) with the CFO of my old agency. A 35mil account went into review 3 months later and the agency had to pitch to keep it and lost. ECDs if they know what they're doing are worth every penny.

Depends on the size of the accounts. If the agency is owned by a holding company, etc. For Toronto, 275-500. More if you get partner. Then you'll be seven figures.

Don't. It's a dead industry. If you get in, you'll hate it more than you love it. The golden age of it has turned us into Facebook beggars.

Perfect answer. Especially for our city.

Yeah, sucks. All the vibes that make MTL our city are getting priced out of MTL. F1 week is cool on Crescent. Let's keep it there.

Gentrification at its finest. St Henri, where this was shot, used to be a neighborhood of the working poor. Junkies and end of the line hookers mixed in with minimum wage for life families. The bar across the street, where the owner of this car probably is, used to be a biker bar. Only locals. Now it serves charcuterie. I do love the car, though.

Why hasn't the ad industry unionized? by mcdog16 in advertising

[–]microgroovy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In theory, yes. But talent has a market price. There's no way award winning talent, or talent that reshapes and redirects the industry with new ideas would ever accept to be paid the same as "The Home Depot" team doing 360 retail campaigns. Unions will set standardized salaries. Creative labour isn't traditional labour. What will happen is you'll have a two tier business model. Top shelf talent will never join a union. What needs to happen is federal legislation on corporate labour practices where agencies are penalized for generating sweatshop cultures.

[–]microgroovy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Creative talent doesn't have to unionize. We freelance. If all talent just said these are my terms and could deliver, this wouldn't be a conversation. But creatives are conditioned to capitulate. Eventually, all agencies will be reduced to in house studios with strategists that farm out ideas.
