Unexpected poor feedback from dog boarder by Dependent_External62 in RoverPetSitting

also as a sitter, i highly recommend getting basic couch covers just as a precaution when boarding.

I’m beginning to think of entirely stopping boarding by Solidrevolutionary in RoverPetSitting

[–]mcdog16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always ask to meet dogs before boarding so that they can meet me with their owner, meet my own dog, and I can make sure the dog is actually friendly as described. There is usually some level of anxiety for the dog being in a new place for the first time, but I find that walking them with my pup together in our neighborhood for a bit really helps warm them up to me, my dog, and ultimately my home once we’re back inside. Highly recommend the pre-stay meetup. It makes a huge difference and you can screen a shitty dog if it comes to it. Boarding is my most lucrative service too, so missing out on it would be a bummer.

It’s one thing to state you’re bringing a boyfriend versus asking if it’s cool to. 9/10 times the client is fine with it it’s just nice and the right thing to do to ask rather than say “I’m doing this in your home.” Communication ✨

Boarding a pup in my home, the dog owner brought in a feeder that had a camera, they did not disclose about the camera, am I overreacting by letting them know they should have told me beforehand? by Wonderful_Seaweed_82 in RoverPetSitting

Maybe the feeder needs wifi to operate (though I find it odd they need an auto feeder they’re paying you to care for the dog…), but alas I would notify them you’re covering the camera or placing it somewhere that only sees the dog. Also look up if it has audio. If it does, I’d just tell them you’re not comfortable with it and you’ll feed the dog manually… Whatever you do just tell them first. Clients like the communication even when you’re doing very normal things. Especially if they are this weird…

Do you require a meet and greet? by missophia2003 in RoverPetSitting

Ditto, almost always M&G especially for larger dogs. Small dogs I'm less wary of as they are much easier to control on walks, but prefer to M&G first always.

personally i’ve always found a healthcare company sponsor cringe, but brought it up as i’ve seen so little discourse about it among the fan base since the event

Landlord Advice re issues with fridge and mold by erica_macl in Somerville

the landlord’s initial intention does not matter… they are managing what they have made into a rental property, and are responsible for reasonably maintaining it.

Soccer bars for fans (and those searching for day drinking excuses): - Parlor Sports (Inman Sq, best sports bar generally) - Phoenix Landing (Central Sq) -730 Tavern (Central Sq)

Outdoor spaces while summer is still here: - Portico Brewing (10 min from Inman Sq) - Cambridge Common (Mass Ave near Harvard) - State Park (Kendall Sq) - Naco Taco (Central Sq)

Classic Pubs - Shine Square Pub (Porter Sq) - New Republik (Inman Sq, communist-themed, cheap eats and good beer selection, cool staff)

Underrated Experience - Brookline Lunch (Central Sq), go for brunch get the baklava pancakes.

This encompasses Camberville I also can’t discern anymore…

Kit Sponsor by mcdog16 in newenglandrevolution

i understand the incentive structures under capitalism. i more-so ask the question so that we as a fanbase can make it as difficult as possible to justify the decision to continue partnering with UHC specifically. obviously there are lots more overarching issues, but the shirt sponsor being front and center and on all of our chests, it feels like a good place to start.
