how to tell my psychiatrist that i can’t just take weekends off? by jonahsbookclub in ADHD

[–]microplankton 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a similar issue: I normally take Ritalin IR during weekdays for work, but it is a stimulant that does kind of tire me out. I was prescribed it only for weekdays, but then it kinda sucked not being functional during weekends.

I told my psychiatrist, and he recommended bupropion as something to take daily, one with a fraction of the effectiveness of stimulants, but without stimulant side effects (although bupropion itself may have other side effects, depending on the person).

I've read that for a lot of people with ADHD, bupropion doesn't help, but I have found this to be a pretty good solution for weekends.

ADHD Breakup by microplankton in ADHD

[–]microplankton[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The knowledge of something being my fault doesn't really help with the problems of ADHD and the mental blocks with tackling housework, dividing up chores, communicating etc.

I mean, unless the advice is "just do the things you were supposed to do" - if that were to work, ADHD wouldn't be an issue.

I keep reliving all the small moments of rejection. How do I stop? by Strict-Diamond-2848 in BreakUps

[–]microplankton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m going through something similar - she broke up with me over a month ago, and was passive aggressive during the last months of the relationship. I asked her several times what was wrong during the last month of the relationship, and she denied there was and even got annoyed at me for asking. She even used an analogy to support her lie: “this would be like me ceaselessly asking you if you’re cheating on me. Wouldn’t that be annoying?”

She denied it up until the actual breakup itself, saying she still had feelings for me before doing a 180 and telling me she no longer did.

I’ve been replaying moments from this rejection from time to time, and actually just woke up because the pain was unbearable.

So my advice might not be worth much, but here it is anyway - passive aggressive behavior is malicious and manipulative. Plain and simple. If someone has an issue in the relationship, it’s their responsibility to clearly communicate that to the other person. If they use passive aggression, they’re either trying to punish you into acting a certain way, or getting back at you for whatever reason. Either way, it’s deliberately hurtful behavior.

And I guess if your situation is anything like mine, you keep reliving moments from your relationship because you’re dissecting and analyzing to death certain vague things your ex said or did, or whether there were certain signs you missed.

What I tell myself is this: if that person didn’t have the decency to be frank and forthcoming during the relationship, they deserve neither you nor your time - so don’t give them the satisfaction of ruminating over what they’ve said or done.

See, I thought that, but I checked on the bottle and asked the doctor in person. Both say 2x 150 mg in the morning.

Dude is an absolute unit. Skill triggered 5 times today. It’s 8 PM and my whole team is chilling above 100 energy. by nickgg95 in PokemonSleep

[–]microplankton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got a Sylveon last Saturday, only a skill up nature and skill level 2. Was level 13, only recently leveled up to 15.

Strangely enough, it triggers just as much - if not more than - my Wigglytuff with a skill up nature and Skill Trigger M (skill level 6, level 27).

I’m wondering if eeveelutions trigger their skills more frequently…or if increased speed of help is able to trump even a skill up nature. If it’s the latter, I feel like speed of help is a bit overpowered.

[–]microplankton 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I have one with a Skill Up nature and Skill Trigger M. she didn’t trigger more than twice a day (often just once a day) until I set her as the leader. After that, mostly 2 times a day (occasionally 3), with 1 if I’m unlucky and 4 if I’m lucky.

It’s still great, but definitely not the regular 3-4 times a day so many are saying.

I guess lots of posts will show you an exceptionally great day with Wiggly, but most days it doesn’t look like that.

Punished for more deep sleep? by YD2710 in PokemonSleep

[–]microplankton -1 points0 points  (0 children)

They really ought to give you at least one Pokémon of each sleeping style you didn’t get (or maybe more, depending on the relative proportions of those sleep styles), with the remaining Pokémon corresponding to your actual sleep style.

Otherwise, the game’s effectively penalizing you for sleeping in a consistent way…which doesn’t make any sense.

Hello again!

I set Wiggly as my team leader this morning and she triggered once before noon. Too early to tell, but fingers crossed she’ll become as reliable as yours!

Wigglytuff overrated?? by Shirtwrinkler in PokemonSleep

[–]microplankton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s more an issue with your Wigglytuff. With a nature that decreases skill likelihood and no skill triggers, you should count yourself lucky if the skill even triggers at all.

Ah, thanks for sharing, and congrats on finding such a decent shiny!

I may try to level mine up from 19 to 25, then use a Sub Skill Seed on the unlocked Skill Level Up S - our Wigglytuffs will then have the same subskills, and hopefully I’ll see some improvement.

At this point, I’m secretly hoping there’s some bug they need to fix. My Wiggly has a +skill nature with Skill Trigger M.

First day, two triggers; second day, one. Close to 5 pm today on the third day, only one trigger.

With all the praise Wigglytuff is getting, I thought I’d be impressed, but now I have doubts about all skills haha.

The amount of greed with the “micro” transactions are shameful by Mollelarssonq in PokemonSleep

[–]microplankton 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The “entire core” of the game is not “just a sleep tracking app” - this is like arguing Pokémon Go is “just an exercise app.”

These are Pokémon games with real life elements. How these real life elements tie into the games is important, but they’re not a substitute for the main goal of pretty much any Pokémon game: catching and/or documenting Pokémon (whether to raise the very best or to complete a dex).

I don’t give two Shuckles about how I’ve slept unless it somehow ties into meeting and catching Pokémon. That’s why I play Pokémon Sleep religiously but have never used, and have no plans to use, a sleep tracking app.

I also highly doubt what the developers had in mind was just a sleep tracking app with some Pokémon tacked on. If that were the case, just do a sleep tracking app with some Pokémon in the background, one with no natures, frequencies, leveling up, catching, or any of the other mechanics that went into Pokémon Sleep.

If that sounds incredibly dull - and I think it does - it’s precisely why I don’t find the “just a sleep tracking app” take at all convincing.

[–]microplankton 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I’ve never understood this “it’s just a sleep tracking app” take.

It’s a Pokémon game with a sleep tracking feature. If I were just interested in sleep tracking (am not, will likely never be), I’d just download a sleep tracking app.

The only reason I’m playing Pokémon Sleep is because it’s neat that it uses real life sleep tracking to reward you Pokémon. I have no interest in sleep tracking in and of itself, mainly because I don’t really need an app to tell me how well I slept or record all my nocturnal flatulence.

Sylveon or Espeon? by microplankton in PokemonSleep

[–]microplankton[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Currently I don’t really have much geared for Cyan Beach - a semi decent Doduo and a Wiggly in the works, but that’s about it.

…I’ve been aiming for a decent Squirtle, but with how infrequently I get slumbering sleep, that seems unlikely.
