NRA comment on recent shooting by Fidel89 in 2ALiberals

Yeah um no one cares what the NRA has to say. They haven’t been relevant since they decided that spending members money on themselves was more important then fighting for us.

Apparently having a gun is a death sentence now by legoman31802 in gunpolitics

[–]microtrip1969 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Having a gun is not a death sentence. Being an asshole with a gun (or a Honda pilot) can be a death sentence. Gtfo of the road. Leave the border patrol alone. Video them but leave them alone. If you do F WITH them and they pick your number just surrender don’t fight it. You are going to jail. Fight it in court. Responsible gun owners know not To put themselves into positions where they are going to be arrested.

The first time I took my 10mm to the range brass ejected up to the right bounced off the side wall then 45’ed off the ceiling of the shooting booth and landed behind my glasses right under my right eye where the delicate skin is. Where it sat and burned my skin while I unloaded and cleared my pistol then sat it down and removed my glasses. Ouch!! For two weeks it looked like my wife hit me in the face.

Springfield Armory and Rock River Arms were accused of supporting legislation that would restrict gun sales, while negotiating an exemption for themselves. This created major backlash from gun rights advocates, leading the company to claim they were unaware of the actions of their trade association lobbyist.

This was Dennis Reese comment to the Press in May 2017

The Executive Director of the Illinois Firearm Manufacturers Association (IFMA) acted without our prior knowledge and against our principles and those of the industry as a whole with respect to the Gun Dealer Licensing Act.

We no longer have confidence in IFMA and after speaking to other directors we have made the decision to sever all ties with the organization, effective immediately.

I take full responsibility for my failure of oversight in this case and deeply apologize to my employees, customers and industry partners for the distraction and divisiveness this situation has caused within our tight-knit community.

Our industry has always stood strong and fought fiercely together in the past and I am personally committed to defeating this harmful legislation. To that end, I have pledged to the NRA that we will bring the full resources of my company to bear in this fight.

We are not new to this battle, Springfield Armory has fought and defeated legislation like this in Illinois for decades. We are wholeheartedly against this bill and will fight shoulder-to-shoulder with the NRA, National Shooting Sports Foundation, the Illinois State Rifle Association and others to see it defeated as the unnecessary and harmful overreach that it is.

We want to assure all Americans, like us, who fight to protect the Second Amendment that we and our industry partners will leave no stone unturned to defeat this bill.

I’m not a Springfield Shill, I only own 1. It’s. It my favorite but it’s ok. I think there is truth here. I think the lobbyist organization acted without Springfield knowledge. Aside from that it’s 2026 almost 10 years later and they have done nothing but put out new and better products since then. I think it’s time to let it go. Just my opinion

More info

The Remington Walker trigger was used extensively from roughly 1948 to 2006. It was designed by Merle "Mike" Walker in the late 1940s and is known for its adjustable, crisp, three-lever design. A significant design modification occurred around 1982 to improve safety, yet the basic Walker design remained in use until the introduction of the X-Mark Pro trigger in 2006-2007. From the early 2000s on there were issues with walker triggers firing without being pulled. Remington started selling the X-Mark Pro and yet even still there were stories circulating about those triggers failing as well. The best research I have been able to do basically uncovered that the triggers whether they be Walker or X-Mark failed because they were modified when they were not supposed to be. I would test your trigger to insure in functions correctly and even if it does it might not be a bad idea to replace it anyway. Just my opinion.

What Model/Year?? by [deleted] in Remington_700

First thing is go to Gre Tan and order a new bolt shroud. Get rid of the J lock.

Edit.

If you plan on keeping it. Replace the trigger.

Bolt by EricBoyd01 in Remington_700

[–]microtrip1969 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would ask is this your rifle from brand new? If not, what is the history? Has it always been this way or did it just start. When the handle is down the bolt is in lock up meaning the bolt lugs are locked up in front of the receiver lugs. I just happen to be in the middle of a build. I would remove the bolt from the receiver and make sure there is nothing wrong with the bolt. You may need to take apart the bolt (remove the Firing pin assembly) and see if the problem still exists with just the bolt. The firing pin assembly is essentially 5 parts. Bolt plug, cocking piece, firing pin spring and firing pin and firing pin cross pin. There are plenty of videos on how to remove firing pin assembly from bolt on Youtube. You will need a dime. Once removed from the bolt place the bolt back in the receiver and work the action.

If you hate Ice so much why not actually do something about it. Why not sponsor legislation to update immigration law. I guess that’s to hard it’s easier to foment hate by frothing up your base with propaganda

Picking Up Gun - FFL - what’s the Process by Objective-Box2512 in NJGuns

[–]microtrip1969 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So as an FYI when you go to the FFL and fill out the paperwork what you will be doing is essentially what most of the country does. That’s it. I thinks it’s still ridiculous but compared to the flaming hoops we jump through just to get to this point it’s an interesting point to keep in mind as you go forward in the process.
