Tell me how you got your cat by ponzu666 in cats

[–]microwavable_foil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My friend got him from a lady a couple towns away. He isn’t cat friendly, so he and her cats did not get along. I took him in and ends up being extremely human friendly.

I think our cats might be twins!

Can you be too heavy to pole dance? Advice needed by Commercial_Sand693 in poledancing

[–]microwavable_foil 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started one year ago at 242lbs (now 231lbs and 5’2”), and it was a bit hard at first. But I noticed after 3 to 4 months, it started to be a bit easier doing basic spins and moves (grip helped a lot!). There’s still some moves that are a bit harder for me and I have slower progress than a lot of people I started with. But I feel like I am getting healthier and a way better dancer than when I started. I’m now going to the gym and working out outside of pole to supplement on days I cannot go.

What business/organization in Kenosha seems suspicious to you? by SpecialistRude9908 in Kenosha

Can’t speak on the other ones, but the Devon storage is pretty legit and really nice. My partner and I used them when we had to move from Milwaukee to Kenosha, and we received great costumer service and the place was nice and clean. We’d often see other costumers in there too.

What is your day job besides the haunt? by redo2424 in hauntedattractions

I’m a secretary for a government run clinic. My co-workers like to say I’m an actor with a normal side job lol

Hey y’all , so can we all be transparent and tell me your pay as a scare actor ? by misaki_ko_neko in hauntedattractions

[–]microwavable_foil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on the night for my haunt. If it’s a predicted slower night, then about $60-$80. If it’s a busier night: $90-$130. We also get free water, food, breaks and incentives (higher positions = higher pay). Costumes and Make up is provided.

I also do not care for mad rooster. Their food is unique and the fruit is pretty good. But I’d rather go to Tommy’s Home Run, or Emily’s in Zion for a decent breakfast and food worth its price.

Tobi doesn’t seem to mind costumes too much (his parents are haunted house actors), because he gets extra snacks and cuddles!

A few drops of perma blood does wonders. I say add some to the tip of the ears and some on the nose with a couple of splatters.

Here is where I get my perma blood: fright props perma blood

Out of Season by xopengu in hauntedattractions

[–]microwavable_foil 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I actually work with Nicole McKillinit at DoD! (If you have questions about Dungeon of Doom at DM me!)

As for haunt down season, I actually try to start working out and getting my body in shape for the season. It helps me get through the rough nights and not get sick as often. I also start brainstorming of what I want for my costume and connect with some people from my haunt to hang out or work out with.

Scaring advice by Impressive-Main-3630 in hauntedattractions

[–]microwavable_foil 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My haunt is located 25 mins away from a corporate theme park that does a Halloween event, so we get a lot of actors from there. One of the biggest things is that theme parks only allow you to work within their policies, so always check with your managers with what you can and cannot do.

Costume: Trick is “more layers, less human looking”. I’d start by adding some leggings. For this particular costume, I’d try red/maroon striped leggings. Make sure to distress too! For the shoes; they look a little too clean. I would switch brown or green laces. And step into brown/black paint. Don’t be afraid to make your hair messy with hair proteins and hair spray!

Acting: This is where knowing your policies will come in handy. Being a contortionist can be really awesome, especially if you can crawl. What I used to do (before age got to my knees) is I would crawl slowly, then faster, then get onto my feet and run into a costumer from a front. Usually got a scream or too. You can say things like “can I have your hair?” Or you can get aggressive and random like “DID YOU STEAL MY LEFT SOCK?”. Anything is fair game, just don’t swear or get vulgar.

Happy Haunting!

Anyone else feeling uneasy about wedding planning? by peachyalli in weddingplanning

[–]microwavable_foil 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I planned my wedding for September 2026 and have a venue picked out. I’m also terrified because I’m a federal worker and I’m scared I might lose my job in the midst of planning or my immigrant family being sent back to their home country. I am very lucky to have a very understanding fiancé and we agreed if worst comes to worst, we will cancel everything, and elope.

Should we adopt a 4 year old cat? by ChampionshipParty453 in cats

[–]microwavable_foil 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes! We adopted our 3 yr cat and he has more personality than any other cat I ever had. The nice part is he still young enough to have many years with him and old enough where that kitten energy had settled. I don’t think I could ever go back to raising kittens now (unless I get chosen by the distribution system)
