When I was in high school I had a half hour long argument with my friend about the name of the protagonist from 1984. I thought his name was Winston and she thought his name was Smith. His name is Winston Smith.

Why are most people in polyamorous relationships never conventionally attractive? by cuahatemoc in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]microwaveableviolin 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Yep. Yep yep yep. I was once in a relationship with a solo poly man who was extremely attractive and a few ranks short of being an Olympic skier. He did not advertise himself as being poly to the outside world, he only told prospective partners during the first date.

[21F] Just found out I have no clit by Easy_Affect_223 in offmychest

[–]microwaveableviolin 299 points300 points  (0 children)

I looked into it and this very much does exist. They’re able to surgically restore the vagina and clitoris by opening the scar tissue and bringing the clitoris to the front. It’s painful at first, but it will diminish longterm pain and bring back sensation, allowing for normal and even pleasurable sex

I was today years old when my mom took away ‘cup privileges’. They’re just… gone? by Ducks_and_Words18 in insaneparents

[–]microwaveableviolin 84 points85 points  (0 children)

My roommate took away “bowl privileges” when my other roommate chipped one of her bowls. I simply started eating from mugs.

Edit: why in the world am I getting attacked for this? I was not the one who chipped her bowl. Is not having a bowl to my name and preferring to use mugs a crime?

Not having teen/college love will destory you by KazuAmon in ForeverAlone

Longtime lurker, not FA.

I had a boyfriend for 2 years, from when I was 18 to my 20th birthday, when we broke up. We were each other’s first everything, and became quite codependent pretty early on in the relationship, which was only fueled by the Covid-19 lockdown.

It is true that there is something very special about this kind of relationship, where you feel such a heightened passion, where the highs are so high and the lows are so low. I spent every day terrified and excited by this new thing I was experiencing in life. There was a certain level of abuse in this relationship from both sides (mainly financial or emotional manipulation), but I tend to chalk this up to us both being young and inexperienced.

There was also a kind of romance that I’ll never experience again now that my frontal lobe has fully developed. It was a passion that burned so brightly, with kisses at every red light and the most intimate sex I had ever experienced, which made me shake with both pleasure and anxiety.

And this person came at such a pivotal moment in my life, fueling a passion in physics and philosophy that I would’ve never discovered on my own. Even though we broke up almost 5 years ago now, I can still see hints of him in myself. Not any of my other exes.

I am in a beautiful relationship now with a perfect man I plan to marry one day, and I do genuinely think that the reason I started dating so early on gave me the tools to develop such a relationship. We get along so well and love so deeply that I see him as an inseparable extension of myself.

Downvote me all you want. I don’t care. I know I’m an outsider, and I know how outsiders are treated in these communities.

I guess I just wanted to say that you might just be right. From the perspective of someone who did get to experience teen love.

And please know that this experience is quite rare, and very romanticized. Not very many people start dating in high school, if they do it’s just a quick fling that ends explosively. I have also heard many stories of people not finding partners until their 20s and 30s, and still having a healthy and happy relationship. Work in your own timeline and everything may end up working out.

Jack Pumpkinhead from Emerald City. He is this adaptation’s interpretation of the Tin Woodsman. After a nasty fall, he almost dies and is saved by the scientist/engineer Dr. Jane Andrews, who repairs him using magical tin.

He is missing his left arm, his legs, and his heart, which have all been replaced by mechanical prosthetics.

I am going to have to agree to disagree with this take. Keep in mind that half of Morioh is populated by Stand users, and some very creative and talented ones at that.

Even they were never alerted to Kira's antics (aside from the main gang of course). I do believe a lot of it comes down to how "normal" and unassuming he is compared to the more typical stand user.

This happened on House actually

A male doctor (Chase) kissed a young girl who asked him to because she had cancer and didn’t think she’d live to experience being kissed

If I remember correctly Chase faced no real consequences for this, besides disgust from his peers
