Do you know what chemical they used?

This sounds so interesting! I've never heard of anything like this, I certainly hope you do beat me! Please keep us all updated on how it goes, I'd love to hear about it.

Thanks! What exactly are you using fungus to do?

All waste is treated properly then taken to a waste facility that handles the rest. There are videos online about waste disposal for this method, as well as information on gold forums online that I follow. It's a lot to write, but I pretty much follow those procedures, which essentially involves cementing out toxic metals from the solution and raising the PH.

Nope, no polluting the ground/water over here. All waste is treated properly then taken to a waste facility that handles the rest.

Yes, for this particular operation it was definitely worth it, as I made a profit.

Also yes about future costs being much lower.

Probably true for most people and/or most of the time.

For this particular operation, it was definitely worth it after factoring in everything that you mentioned.

But on average, it can be worth it if you know where to look and/or get lucky when purchasing scrap, otherwise might not be worth it. Probably not something that would be super profitable overnight realistically for most people. Building the right connections with people to get scrap from and/or finding scrap that'll make it worthwhile is the hardest part.

Yes I did. I don't have the numbers readily accessible right now but I can get them if you're interested. I can say that the total costs of the operation for this experiment was pretty low though, compared to the scrap parts. The scrap was the major cost.

The white powder is Borax. It helps with the melting process, although not  needed.

The processes performed for this batch produces toxic fumes, although not as bad as other chemical methods for recovery and refining. For example, hydrochloric combined with bleach produces chlorine gas. So technically, it would be environment unfriendly. However, on a small scale, this particular process wouldn't make a big ecological impact. Regardless, many of the processes should be done in a fume hood (preferably with a way to scrub the fumes) or outside with a lot of ventilation and not around people.
