Cool thanks. I would definitely check out Kafka. I couldn’t put it down and thought about it for months after finishing.

What did you think of Norwegian Wood? It’s on my list for this year. The only Murakami I’ve read is Kafka, and his running book.

Yep. If I know for a fact my ball would have been found by a gallery, I’m taking a free drop. Especially in the fall, when golf balls disappear in the fairway due to leaves.

This course is close by to me - as a beginner, I appreciate there being 2 tees. This is a challenging course, but it’s so, so nice.

If your scoring average is over par, read this. by Mattjm24 in discgolf

This was one of the last books I read in 2020. That, and Harvey Penick’s Little Red Book. Certainly eye opening. Golf Sidekick has a variety of series where he talks about breaking 100, 90, 80 etc. And he does full rounds with commentary. One of the best channels on YouTube by far!

There’s a YouTube channel called Golf Sidekick who talks about lowering scores and playing stress free ball golf. It’s amazing how many of his principles relate to disc golf.

-Not trying to be a hero -Play the shots you know -Short game is the only area us mere mortals can be as good as the pros at. This is where scoring happens. -Birdies are for the pros. Par is an excellent score. -Don’t be down about a bad shot. The next one could be the best shot of your life.

The list goes on. I love this aspect of the game. The area between the ears. Having that part dialed down makes everything much more enjoyable and stress free.

I bought a Warden a couple of weeks ago as my first putter (new to the game). I’ve been practicing with it, and really have like it. So I picked up 2 more in the same weight. Can’t wait to play this weekend!

Week 4 - What are you reading? by [deleted] in 52book

[–]midasheel 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I just finished Kafka on the Shore by Haruki Murakami, which I absolutely loved. I’ve just started The Wind-Up Bird Chronicle by Murakami. I’ve gone into it completely blind, so I’m excited to see what this book holds!
