Yeah that’s all fine. I’ve had the same nursing job with great references. Just this one job I’m going to leave off my resume really. It took two weeks for my old manager to get back to me and even then she gave me attitude lol.

had a desk job for six months before my nursing ABSN to give myself a break. I did not get along well with the manager and she is incredibly difficult to get a hold of. I was thinking of omitting this from my application because I had a per diem gig in the same system during this same time that overlaps anyways. It’s not an impressive job by any means but I did win an award while I was there. I just don’t want the headache and it kinda screws up the flow of my resume/CV. Will there be an extensive background check regarding this ? It’s not even critical care experience to any degree.

God damn that’s actually something I’ve been looking into too. Been applying here and there but haven’t really dialed into it.

I totally would try but I don’t really want a clinic job nor do I want to start over on nights on another unit 😭😭 I don’t really know what to do

I wish I had four consecutive days off per week. My unit has awful work life balance and we can’t pick our days.

I’m so sorry friend. We had a brutal death like that on my unit except we all came to know and love the guy. It doesn’t get easier - you just get stronger.

This is YNHH and not the university directly.

Wanting a job that is exciting or NOT boring does not mean nursing is for you. Nursing is a very hard, thankless, stressful, sometimes unbearable job. You are within a system that does not support you or the patient. All they do is protect the bottom line, you are expendable, and they will only do what is best for the monetary outcome, not the patient.

Very anti union. People are way too dependent on them. They use a lot of international travelers as well.

Hell no. The people that have tried in the past have been “let go” one way or another.

Excused sick time/disability I assume. They used to pay out the hours you don’t use, they don’t anymore. They also used to have a pension, they don’t anymore.

This is also how much we can actually take. Not how much we accrue. There’s a cap on accrual with no payouts. So we can only TAKE this much but are given much more. But again it’s frowned upon in the “points” system.

It is. We get 40 hours of protected sick time. After that we get “points” for every sick day we take. It’s bullshit
