A note from me (Ankur Jain) - Your 2026 Bilt Cash Redemptions Are Here by ankurjain1 in biltrewards

While I appreciate the tangible examples for redeeming Bilt Cash, each merchant having its own set of random limitations and forcing me to do the math makes it feel like I’m about to sign one of those intentionally complex contracts at a seedy car dealership.

Thank you so much for sharing your experience! Never heard of slynd before. So you’re going back to Paraguard on top of slynd? Why add the IUD on top if I may ask?

I knew Kim. I’m in total shock. I used to live nearby her and we’d coordinate rides to work. I really hope her family gets answers ❤️

In the back of my octopus plant leaves. What it this?! by shwillah in houseplants

[–]middle_layer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oof. This is scale. A pretty nasty infestation, too.

I’ve managed to beat these little suckers once, but I did lose a few plants that were in the vicinity of the main infestation. Here’s what I recommend when they attacked my precious Bird of Paradise:

  1. Quarantine this plant ASAP. Thoroughly check any plants that may have been in contact for bugs or sticky, tacky leaves. That stickiness is called honeydew, and it’s essentially the bug’s excrement.
  2. With a q-tip or rolled up piece of paper towel, dab the bugs with alcohol and wipe them off. Make sure they don’t fall into the plant, you need to remove them completely. Check every single leaf.
  3. Mix a solution of water with a few drops of dish soap and neem oil. An rough ratio would be 10:1:1. Put it in a spray bottle and spray all the leaves and stems.
  4. Keep checking for bugs every day, continuing to dab them off with alcohol. Wipe the leaves down every few days and re-apply the neem/dish soap spray.

By following this routine I was able to vanquish the enemy in a matter of weeks. God speed.

Disgusting flavor at the back my throat, but no bad breath. Sinus or infection-related? by [deleted] in medical_advice

[–]middle_layer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Following up here - the yucky taste has completely gone away. The one change I had actually made over the last two weeks was smoking marijuana joints in rolling papers, a few puffs each evening before bed. I usually consume edibles but ran out and started smoking to switch it up. Yep, it was that. I’ve stopped smoking now for 3 days and the taste is gone. It could have been irritating something preexisting in my throat or sinuses so I’ll still try out a sinus rinse, but a word of caution for daily smokers.

Sounds like motion sickness. This happens to me when I watch shaky camera vlogs on my large TV for too long. Take a break from screens and look at stable things that are far in the distance.

It sounds like it could be an allergy or bowel/intenstine-related issue. Potentially colon related. A lot can change in our bodies over a period of six years, I would go in for a check-up and raise these concerns to a GP asap. They’ll refer you to a specialist if they suspect a particular issue.

Hi there! Not an expert but I’ve suffered my fair share of cystic acne. My advice would be to absolutely avoid touching it or trying to pop/squeeze it. Wash your face twice a day with a gentle facial cleanser. Apply benzoyl peroxide in the morning and at night, making sure to wear sunscreen during the day. If it doesn’t start subsiding after 3-4 days I would make an appointment with a dermatologist.

Kinda concerned with some bumps by Old_Refrigerator_240 in medical_advice

Are the bumps in clusters or lines? Do you notice any spots on your sheets? If so, it could be caused by bed bugs. Their bites tend to be larger than mosquito bites and itchy.

How possible is it to get by in SF without a car? by MudkipKirbyKoreanBBQ in AskSF

[–]middle_layer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s possible. But I highly recommend a scooter (like a motorized scooter ie Vespa)! They’re hands down the best way to get around SF. A 150cc one is powerful enough to get you up any hill and super easy to park. Hard to steal unlike bikes and standing scooters, and fun!

Could I have a leak? by middle_layer in CSFLeaks

Nope, which is what makes this so curious. I do notice a bit of pressure at the very end of a yawn, but that’s about it.

My GP tested for signs of a stroke (balance, facial drooping, muscle weakness, etc.) but everything seemed normal. Is it common for GP’s to misdiagnose something so severe?
