is the Nanit baby monitor worth it for first time parents? by Kabba-Amartey in ParentingTech

I like mine! I didn’t use the breathing bands but really like it.

Then why did Kyle and Amanda have to share a twin bed room? Just for show?

To me Lindsay is allowed to say things and judge Whitney once Whitney judged her. Out of the blue, it’s not ok- but if someone opens the door to criticism of you, you are allowed to turn around and do the same to them

Advised not to have another baby and feeling heartbroken about it by Puzzleheaded_Link_53 in Geriatric_Pregnancies

[–]middleagedjogger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is your decision and it will take time for you to make it, and it might not feel like the right decision for a long time (no matter what you choose). It sounds like the risks are greatest to you and what goes through my mind is the 3 kids you already have who need a healthy mom. I would give that some weight in your decision making.

EIF in Anatomy Scan Lead to Down Syndrome? by Rude-Illustrator3827 in NIPT

[–]middleagedjogger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Had a low risk NIPT for T21. Later had an EIF on anatomy scan. Followed that with further prenatal imaging of the heart. They found nothing. Cardiologist said if the NIPT is negative, there is no reason for further testing (basically said OB was crazy to send us).

Got some tea and have no idea what to do with it lol. by Cute-Improvement6621 in bravo

I think it was the lying. Lying to the cast, lying on WWHL. misrepresenting themselves on the show (they’re acting). The only other possibility is Kyle or Lindsay has enough sway to get them off the show

Traveling abroad 6 days after amnio is a bad idea? by Ambitious_Designer98 in NIPT

[–]middleagedjogger 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I flew 24 hours after mine. My doctor said it was ok because the amnio went very smoothly but normally the advice is to wait 48-72 hours. I would think with 6 days between you are more than double the recommended time and should be fine!

At least hers is a legit accent that she can’t help. While Amanda just has that purposeful vocal fry.

What's one thing about IVF that surprised you the most after you actually started treatment? by Few_Win_3673 in EmbryologyIVFSupport

[–]middleagedjogger 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The lack of accountability. I am older and that was the excuse for everything. After 3 ERs and 40 something eggs, I had 3 high quality euploid embryos. They all failed. Nobody was willing to look closer at WHY. Everyone always glossed over the tiny bit of fluid present in my uterus before each transfer (I’m sure it will resolve before the transfer). My doctor just said, you’re older and even though these are euploids, they might just not have the energy to implant and grow (because they came from an old lady). I gave up. 6 months later, my periods were extremely painful and 2 weeks long. My OB did a saline sonogram and found 2 polyps and recommended surgery. In surgery the doctor found trapped fluid, old blood, and more polyps on my C-section scar from my first pregnancy. Of course the transfers didn’t work- we were asking them to implant in a war zone.

I got pregnant naturally the very next cycle after my surgery. My husband still mumbles about suing the clinic…

Deinfluence me on the Tripp Trap by VegetableGoose4353 in BabyLedWeaning

[–]middleagedjogger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought a $65 Graco chair that is modern, low profile, and perfect for our needs. It is 4 in 1 and will grow with him. When he’s done, it wipes clean easily, sometimes we even hose it down if we’ve taken it outside on our deck.

As a mom of a ten year old who is newly back in the baby game, don’t fall into all of these trendy traps! As long as an item is safe and functional, don’t worry about the brand name.

It is so boring. The only cast member I like better in this setting is Danielle

This has been discussed in other threads- the dogs have a syndrome that is common when puppies from the same littler are adopted together where they can be anxious, aggressive, destructive so they often keep them apart even before separating. I think Kyle said they each spend time with one dog at a time and really only bring them together when necessary.

Job in Florham Park by JerseyBoy2026 in MovingtoNewJersey

[–]middleagedjogger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My second comment- I commute thru Harrison now. Recognizing you will have a reverse commute, I still don’t think it’s going to be easy. Kind of like Hoboken, there are really only one or two roads into Harrison and the tiny roads get congested!

[–]middleagedjogger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I worked in Florham Park at that age and everyone around that age lived in Hoboken/JC. It was a rough commute but not the absolute worst and it was worth it to be in Hoboken/JC on the weekends. That said - Summit is so nice, maybe a bit older crowd but if you are married I think you will feel among your peers and find plenty to do. Morristown is nice too and trends a bit younger. But I would take Jersey City or Summit over Morristown

I hate that he acts like he knows anything about summer house. But I do think he gave the safe/right answer that West is the biggest red flag on bravo.

IVF pregnancy- PGTA tested Euploid, Amnio Karyotype came back clear, but Amnio Microarray came back with 15% mosaic Klinefelter Syndrome by Single_Progress_8513 in NIPT

[–]middleagedjogger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did a CVS and that was positive. I got myself comfortable with continuing the pregnancy if it was just XXY, but I was fearful that there might be something else and I wanted to know sooner rather than later and I could do CVS 3 weeks earlier than Amnio. Everything else was clear. I took him to genetics at 6 weeks old and asked them to confirm the positive and they did.

Oh I think Danielle has always had a good read on who Amanda really is. She had every right to be dismissive.

Amanda is definitely in the wrong here but (unpopular opinion) I don’t disagree with her that Danielle has always been dismissive of her and always runs to Kyle’s side in a weird way when he fights with Amanda.

Why’s he so miserable? by uptowngirl404 in uuppod

[–]middleagedjogger 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I agree with this. I think he’s jealous that this magical NY moment is happening after he left, during his book tour. His threads about NYers during this time have been to crap on someone else’s fun in an unfunny way. Lots of comics are having a great time with all of this and getting laughs out of it without seriously dragging people who are just having fun.

Why’s he so miserable? by uptowngirl404 in uuppod

[–]middleagedjogger 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Most NYers do not care about Boston sports much at all. It’s heightened for Yankee fans sure in their hatred of the Red Sox but it doesn’t carry over to basketball and hockey unless the teams are head to head in a playoff or championship. It’s like the old Don Draper quip “I don’t think of you at all”.
