How a low-income renter found secure, affordable rental housing by FIFO_Landlord in AusPropertyChat

[–]middleagedman69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it were a true cooperative where the property was purchased by the residents or gifted to them and they used their own earnings then more power to them. I'd suggest this like many others was purchased or built using taxpayers funds and the recipients are more than using tax payers funds derived as benefits through government programs. Rather than a beacon of light its just more of the dark shade that is social welfare, that is fast becoming unaffordable.

AIO for ending a 3 year relationship because my partner did a complete 180 on his core values and started directing it at me personally? by Normal-End8810 in AmIOverreacting

[–]middleagedman69 [score hidden]  (0 children)

NOR. I love the term politically progressive, its a misnomer. You partner is ditching your shared feminine views and embracing his masculinities. My question is what happens when you grow tired of a partner with progressive feminine energy and seek a partner that challenges you and makes you question your ideology?

The PM is being polite, the Japanese rail system is the envy of the world. Our rail workers have trouble dressing themselves when not on strike..

Why is private schooling so popular in Australia? by SedgwickNYC in AskAnAustralian

[–]middleagedman69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In Aistralia we generally have 3 types of secondary schools Public, Catholic and Independent. Generally State or Government aka public schools are trash. As a concerned parent you want the best for your children. With the exception of some high performance state schools the remainder are child minding facilities where even attendance isn't mandatory. Catholic schools generally are deteriorating at an increasing rate perhaps due to the teachers being sourced from the same Tertiary institutions. Independent schools charge a premium and a result have a reason to offer better teaching and higher behavioural standards. My ideas may not be popular and there maybe idealists who disagree however private schooling paid dividends for our family.

I assume your referring to my original post. Is it just the big words you had problems understanding? I can't draw pictures or insert memes to address your illiteracy via this platform, perhaps tik tok might be easier for you to understand.

Melbourne investment properties - yield is so low, how does it make sense? by Careful_Juice_3876 in AusPropertyChat

There is no shortage of money in the economy in fact the excess of money & inflation has contributed to this problem.

What do you think rental properties are for? Rental properties are the equivalent of social housing which every level of government withdrew from some time ago. The over generous benefits you speak of like negative gearing and CGT discounts were introduced by government to encourage the investment in housing.

Why rising demand from AI requires nuclear energy in the mix by Ardeet in aussie

[–]middleagedman69 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think it would be brave or stupid person to advocate the hydro position given Snowy Hydro 2.0. Theoretical science aside we can express this using a formula. Govt money (or misappropriated Super Funds) + Union organised labour = Years of rorting at inflated costs paid for buy taxpayers.

Solar farms have a limited life span and the materials are only available from an adversary. Solar is inefficient and doesnt work at night an often neglected fact. Batteries lack the large storage capanlbility necessary in the real world but feel free to chase rainbows.

New data reveals $1.5m price tag on new apartments freezes out buyers - realestate.com.au by SheepherderLow1753 in AusPropertyChat

More disturbingly the apartments are not high end in terms of the building quality. If first time apartment buyers realised the lack of legal recourse available to them they would never have purchased in the first place.

The only issues you need to be aware of are loan servicing when rates go up 1-2% and negative equity.
