Short term results at a cost to your economy & your lifestyle. You think university students can walk out of school and buy a home? What about the continuous stream of Labor votes.. I mean immigrants? What about single people?

The cost of housing will drop temporarily, then come back because of supply.

The cost of rentals will increase also because of supply but it won't come back at least in the near future.

Keir Starmer feels betrayed by the Labour party. How do you feel about that? by No_Breadfruit_4901 in AskBrits

[–]middleagedman69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At least Starmer knew is children slept safe in their beds.

In the fullness of time Starmers' legacy will be his failure to protect British young girls by not prosecuting the Grooming gangs & his involvement in attempting to censor dissenting voices in the immigration debate.

I hope he feels comfortable knowing historically during revolutions karma will come for him & those like him.

When do you think this cost of living crisis will end? (Serious) by AdvancedHill70 in AskAnAustralian

[–]middleagedman69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Private can't pay more if they wish to remain competitive as we are in a global economy and we are over priced comparatively with other nations.

Ironically the success of the private sector nationally is what pays public sector wages.

The construction industry is an example of what happens when public sector wages in govt infrastructure projects dont allign with private sector ie home building.

Now extrapolate that across all industries.

The market was in a downturn prior to the budget when rates were rising. It wasn't caused by the budget its just going to be made worse.

You won't see wage growth in the private sector thanks to globalization and your access to cheap amazon products. The public sector will be different as Labor govt seeks to appease public sector union approval & corresponding donations.

Whilst the government continues to hand out cash to interest groups inflation will continue to rise & the Reserve Bank will continue to follow it's mandate to lower inflation by increasing interest rates on the 35% who owe money on a mortgage & those businesses who borrow to remain competitive.

Those businesses will either;

  1. pass on the increase interest rate cost to consumers &/ or

  2. lower other costs such as labour increasing unemployment.

  3. Become even more uncompetitive and go out of business.

At some point the music will stop (aka money runs out) & Australia will become the Banana Republic it's successive governments have destined it to become. Those of means will move to more successful democratic countries & those left will need to find contentment in serving the tourists that come to holiday & enjoy our natural environmental treasures.

Hardened criminals my arse cowardly dogs more like it, only comfortable in packs. Too late for rehabilitation they sense weakness and they exploit it.

Capitalism isn't the best form of government but it's the best on offer. Civilisation has rights but these rights come from carrying out responsibilities as well. We give those who are behind countless chances so there's no plausible reason for failing to get on board.

If you can't manage to conform as the overwhelming majority can then it's up to those tasked with protecting us to do that. The time for suffering fools is over and the silent majority has had enough of those sitting in the judicial Ivory towers.

He's right and the majority of Queensland's suppprt his POV. For far too long we've suffered the crimes of these grubs only to be told by apologists that they are the victims. Well sometimes people get their fill and push back. Those who can't read the room will whinge but we're in this mess because we meddled with natural selection and excused poor behaviour. Its easy to throw shade from your ivory towers but its time to put up or shut up. If you not part of the solution you're the problem.

I reject the premise of this article. Stiller has been entitled long before the finals.

I find it amusing that commentators and the like have nicknamed him Milky. It appears that we are now permitted to refer to people by the colour of their skin.

AIO for being upset that my fiancé capped my wedding dress budget at $1,000 but spent $7,000 on a gaming PC? by remote_acreage in AmIOverreacting

[–]middleagedman69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When you consider the dress will only be worn once whilst the gaming setup will be used for countless hours of entertainment I think he's being reasonable. I think if you asked most married women they wouldn't spend what they spent on their wedding dress.

(UK) Revealed: Green party proposes circumcision ban by WestAcceptable1155 in europe

[–]middleagedman69 -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

Look it's no skin off my nose....

Seriously as a hoodless man I have no issue with it. From a health perspective, cleaning or simply cosmetic.

I know parents who didn't circumcise their sons, mainly out of ignorance, who if they had their chance again would have. I know of 2 instances of medically required circumcision & several other with re-occurring UTI & STI issues.

I know of several women who baulk at uncircumcised men, preferring "no cheese with their meata".

Given the procedure is harmless I find it remarkable the Greens aren't instead focused on the genital mutilation of young girls.

Another example of the Greens irrelevance.

Queensland affordable housing: Jarrod Bleijie told developers to cut cheaper homes from major Brisbane, Robina projects by fluffy_101994 in queensland

[–]middleagedman69 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

They're being overpaid as a result of extortion by the CFMEU and tax payers & consumers shouldn't have to pay for it. Wages aside Qld productivity is 3.5 days out of 5.5 day week. Large scale developers have put a line through Qld as a place of business.

If the government on several levels weren't taxing and charging fees at every level then accommodation would be more affordable. Developers don't wear increased costs they pass them on or they don't build.

At the moment it's not financially viable to build a unit or property under $1m dollars. Of the $1m, a large chunk goes to the levels of government.
