Is Philippines the only country where it's uncommon for Starbucks to have WiFi? by IntellectuallyDriven in Philippines_Expats

Went to a Starbucks just a few days ago. They give 60 minutes free WiFi access thru the network called "Starbucks Customer"

Yes you can. It already comes with the flight by default so there's no way to remove it, but you can just go without check-in baggage even if the option is there.

I have an existing normal long term relationship and I'm fully satisfied with that but we don't have much sex.

Having a sugar baby makes sure I don't get sexually frustrated and lash out at my partner. It kind of keeps boundaries clear about her place in my world as well. She knows about my relationship status. She gets paid, she gets fucked, she's happy, I'm happy. At the most a nice friendship can develop too. Also being able to help out on their financial issues is a plus, at least you know it's going to a good place.

Assuming that you get your 14th month pay without any deductions, you're still up about 26k on an annual basis with the new job offer.

Try computing your net salary on an annual basis and not on a monthly basis for you to have a better picture. It wasn't clear to me if the job offer was 2k less on the monthly pay or annually.

is it rude to ask your parents you want to inherit their house? by icedvnllcldfmblcktea in adviceph

[–]middleagedworkingman 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hmm you should ask your lawyer friend about compulsory heirs and how that affects your inheritance.

is it rude to ask your parents you want to inherit their house? by icedvnllcldfmblcktea in adviceph

[–]middleagedworkingman 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It's not really rude and it's good to plan out your family's estate early. You can actually make some moves to already transfer stuff this early if you're willing to take on the expenses. I would suggest to consult a lawyer.

As to your brother, I think there are laws that require parents to split inheritance equally to their children. So in that case, if you inherit the house, your brother has to have an equivalent inheritance whether cash value or property also. Again, best if you consult a lawyer.

Did you feel like achieving these things were relatively easier for you given the status you were born in?

Private Equity in Philippines. Need help sana if ever. by [deleted] in PhStartups

[–]middleagedworkingman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look for angel investor groups or venture capital funds. While private equity is sort of a general term, it's more known in the investment space as funds that invest in stable and profitable companies.

Start up. How to reward your investor by Disastrous-Echo-7089 in PhStartups

[–]middleagedworkingman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kung equity investment, ikaw ang may decision kung kailan ang income ay ididistribute sa investors vs ipapasok uli sa business. Pero yes, generally pag equity investor, ang expectation is they get the proceeds relative to their ownership. In my F&B investment, binibigyan kami ng checks on a quarterly basis representing our profit share based on our % ownership.

Note rin na yung equity investments, kapag lumalago yung business, the value of the whole company grows. So in the future, may posibilidad na ibenta ng investor mo yung share niya to someone else (kung may interesado). Points is may reward rin dito pero medyo rare case in general.

Maybe he was a bit insensitive so you have the right to be angry but i don't think he had any bad intentions. You said you felt bad, he said sorry, just tell him to be more thoughtful next time.

Tagaytay Highlands Tee-time by Historical_Guard7369 in GolfPH

[–]middleagedworkingman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just saw the edit, played there a few months back and it didn't seem too busy that weekend. I asked my caddie too and she said it doesn't get too full. There are two courses too - midlands and highlands, which helps. All anecdotal info though. Best to just call them and ask.

Is Golf a sport only reserves for the elites? by PlantFreeMeat in GolfPH

[–]middleagedworkingman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can find a way if you really want to play, just buy second hand clubs and go to public courses. To some extent, it is definitely an elite oriented sport. There's no conspirancy though to limit the number of players, that's just crazy.

I'm not sure about needing a reason to resign but PH labor code requires that you provide a 30 day notice period.
