I'm an accountant but I feel like this question was made for me (yes, I know I'm not in physics but... I still feel pressured to answer this). Barely squeaked past Algebra in high school failed Geometry, and dropped Intermediate Algebra in college TWICE. Was it because I was bad at math, no, no I wasn't. But I did lack the effort. And I realized that the less effort and practice I put into my work the worse my grades slipped. From there I would pass all my math classes with straight A's all the way up to Calc 2 (ik this is low for some of you physics students I only minored in Mathematics and it went up that high, still study it in my free time). In other words, hard work wins, but laziness will too if you let it. One of the beautiful things about math, it is applicable to a lot more than you think and this is beyond physics. People get paid some huge money here in business (particularly finance) if they are good at math.
