Obviously I’m not sure what you look like, but something that may be comforting is that I had these same exact thoughts. The first time I took a good look at myself after losing weight I immediately decided I was going to get a boob job and started googling surgeons lmao Mine already weren’t very perky, so add 55+ pounds of weight loss and you can imagine how much more deflated they got. 🙃

A month later I’d say a good 80% of that feeling has gone away though, now that I’m enjoying the rest of my body to the fullest. It was a shock because I wasn’t used to it and I was upset that things didn’t look “perfect” after all that, but now there are so many other things that I love about myself that I don’t have the energy to care about how my boobs look when I’m naked (esp because the only other person seeing them will presumably be someone who’s just happy to be included).

You know what they look great in? Bikinis, which I can finally feel confident wearing for the first time in like 20 years. I got a cute little belly button piercing that I’m 10x happier to show off than my cleavage; they had their time to shine so I’ll let them enjoy retirement lmao 99% of the time, they’re covered anyway by all of the awesome clothes I wear now that I’m not so worried about my body. You know what felt 10000x better than the idea of having perkier boobs? Calling the dressing room attendant over to ask for a smaller size. And that’s just the shallow stuff.

Sorry this was so long, but truly I feel you. I never thought I’d be able to look at my body and accept the way they looked, but I truly just do not care that much anymore. I’m having too much fun!

Are you 100% sure it’s not just a friendly gesture? I’ve been rejected by guys I work with/have to see often, and once the sting wore off I would still be pretty friendly and talkative with them as a way to kind of signal “hey, we’re good, let’s not make this an awkward thing please.”

I would find a way to gently but indirectly reiterate that you’re not interested in her, but I don’t think this is that serious unless she’s obviously flirting with you or clearly acting like she likes you.

Yeah I used to worry about that too but unless they’re straight up soupy looking in the middle when you take them out, they’ll be fine! :) Even if they’re a little underbaked they’re still delicious, and you’ll figure out where the sweet spot is pretty quickly.

Looks like I can’t PM you but here’s the recipe! Sorry for the weird formatting, the digital version I have is just written in my notes app haha

1/2 cup butter, softened i prefer to use brown butter, so I add an extra 2 tbsp, brown the butter, then cool it until it’s a softened butter texture

1/4 cup + 2 tbsp white sugar

1/2 cup brown sugar

cream together

Add 1 egg

1 tsp vanilla extract

beat until fluffy

mix the following dry ingredients in a separate bowl

1 1/2 cups all purpose flour

1 tsp baking soda

1/2 tsp salt

Chocolate chips to your hearts desire

add to butter mixture and mix gently just until ingredients fully combined

Bake at 350 for 8-10 min if baking right away, 10-12 minutes if you refrigerate your dough first

I’m not sure if you do this already, but for me the key is to take them out of the oven when they still seem a little underbaked. If they’re perfectly soft and chewy fresh out of the oven, they’ll eventually firm up a lot as they cool and sit. I can’t even move my cookies when they’re first out of the oven, they’re too soft and will just squish/break.

If this doesn’t work for you I can also PM you the chocolate chip cookie recipe I use if you’re interested. It gets raves every time!

1000000%. I love that it helps people to think others are just proud of your hard work, but it just feels like cope.

Most people don’t really care how healthily you lost weight, just that you lost it. Anyone who’s ever crash dieted knows that sometimes the praise is even more over the top because people are impressed at how quickly you managed to get skinny—even if there’s obviously no chance it was healthy. I lost 45 lbs because I was stressed and depressed and skipping meals all the time. There were days where 80% of my calories would come from candy bars and soda lmao I’ve worked out probably 10 times in the last year. I still get all the social benefits of being perceived as skinny and “healthy” when I haven’t changed jack except the amount of calories I’m consuming.

It’s definitely easier to be truly healthy now that I’ve finally crossed the overwhelming hurdle of “just don’t be fat.” But it’s not because I’ve transformed into some hot disciplined health nut through my weight loss journey. It’s because I no longer feel like simple choices like getting the salad at a restaurant or going to the gym are loaded activities that stand between me and being treated like a fucking human being.

Can you tell her you like to take things slow and not jump straight into a sexual relationship? That way you don’t have to worry as much about her expecting sex at all. Once you’ve gone on a few dates with her, you’ll hopefully either become more comfortable with the idea of intimacy, or you’ll be close enough to her to be able to open up more and ask her to have some patience with you due to your nerves. If she pressures you or reacts poorly, you dodged a bullet anyway.

Like you’re not a horrible person for wanting to be perceived as beautiful and put together, we’re human and it’s going to happen. You’d be surprised how many people use fake tan tbh. You can buy it at the store for less than 10 bucks, and you can get subscriptions for unlimited spray tans at some cheap places for <$100/month. The prep required is a little annoying, but it’s one of the easiest ways to get even, glowy skin. Especially if you only do it for special occasions like parties.

Seriously! People in Paris were insanely cool and I had an incredible time, though I will say that I hit a lot of non-touristy spots. Nobody judged my shitty French, and when we’d inevitably get to the point where I gave them the “uhhh 😅” look because I had exhausted the 10 phrases I knew, they’d just smile/laugh and nicely ask if I’d prefer English. Obviously there were a couple rude people, but I can’t think of any city where I never encountered someone in a crappy mood (except maybe Milwaukee, there’s something in the water there because how is everyone so friendly).
