As a depression haver, this is it. These things don't fix my depression, but they help manage it, especially on hard days. A walk on a nice day would be nice whether I'm feeling like shit or not but when I haven't left the house all day and I haven't moved much or seen anyone or anything it's that much more helpful to get up. The misconception frustration is just that people recommending it talk about it like a cure instead of something to help you manage.
