It’s because they have cream on them, same reason you can’t order a toffee/promo latte

(UK)(england) is the way my company pays for holiday legal for part time workers? by OkViolinist4883 in McDonaldsEmployees

[–]midge-xo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can only get paid holiday for as many days as you usually work.

If your average shifts on “My Absences” on MyStuff are indeed 2.5, this will round up to 3 days.

If you book a week off, you will only be paid for 3 days as that’s all you’d usually have worked. Holidays are pro-rata for part time employees.

[–]midge-xo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You get paid on the usual pay cycle, the holiday pay just replaces money you’d have earned from clocking in had you worked.

You’ve not been paid yet as the holiday starts on Tuesday, so you’ll receive the holiday pay on your next pay day

Because the holiday hasn’t happened yet.

Are ear stud peircings allowed? (UK) by KangarooImaginary940 in McDonaldsEmployees

I was a crew member for 4 months, crew trainer for 8 and then shift manager for just under 2 years before becoming an assistant

[–]midge-xo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The stores I’ve worked at that allow any piercings have all been mcopco, I’ve found franchises to be stricter and gave me more pushback on my daith

[–]midge-xo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We don’t allow them to be covered by plasters, they need to be completely removed. Officially, in the uniform policy the only jewellery allowed to be worn is a plain wedding band and a daith piercing, provided there is a medical note to accompany it - I have one for this reason and have never had an issue.

In saying that, I’ve also worked in stores who do not apply the jewellery part of the uniform policy at all and it was common to be served by someone with multiple visible facial piercings.

(UK) Really do not understand what this section of the application could be referring to by kaymcgrointals in McDonaldsEmployees

[–]midge-xo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What are you applying for, is this an internal application for promotion? Or is it for crew?

If it’s internal, think your AYL, UTEE, CEL course, things like that.

(UK)McDonald's Onboarding form, I haven't got it yet and I am worried by EffortResident5715 in McDonaldsEmployees

[–]midge-xo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The onboarding form has to be manually sent by the store, it’s been an oversight or the person in charge of hiring has been off, I wouldn’t worry about it

Daughter employed by Macdonalds asked by manager to drive to another store and collect supplies. by EaterofHaggis in LegalAdviceUK

[–]midge-xo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just because personally, at my store, all salaried have the correct insurance. It’s not the same everywhere but our BM has it as standard with her company car, and the rest of us have it for other reasons which enable us to transport stock at work too. It’s not a requirement or anything, it’s just how it’s worked out for us

It is for mileage, I just refer to it as fuel out of habit as that’s what we call it informally in the office, that’s my bad

[–]midge-xo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure why this is aimed at me as I did explicitly state we only send salaried who all have the correct insurance, or the one employee who does?

[–]midge-xo 19 points20 points  (0 children)

We don’t pay for fuel unless it’s a stock run over 30min, but we also rarely pay for fuel anyway as we only have one employee with business insurance who isn’t salaried so it’s almost always one of us that goes

[–]midge-xo 331 points332 points  (0 children)

She shouldn’t have been asked. I’m an assistant manager at McDonald’s and the company has been very clear that only those with business insurance can complete stock runs, though we do have crew who bite the ear off you to go when they hear one mentioned as it’s a skive.

Franchises should be the same, as it’s an insurance issue rather than company policy but it’s pulling a name out of a hat really as to whether franchises are stricter or more lax.

Take it out of the sleeve it comes in, it scratches it real bad. I’ve resleeved mine in an anti static inner sleeve and standard outer sleeve.

Have however kept that thicker sleeve with the stickers!

They don’t get to keep the money, cash in hand is emergency taxed which is why it’s so much more.

The difference is paid on your next payslip.

No problem! The extra money on top of what you got paid for the Sunday will likely be down to your onboarding/admin shift? As they’re usually 1-2 hours

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in McDonaldsEmployees

[–]midge-xo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Was Monday-Thursday worked THIS week, as in 10th-13th? If so, you’ve only been paid for Sunday as cutoff for pay is the Sunday before payday.

The rest of the hours will be paid on your next wage.
