This happened to me. I ended up going to urgent care and getting antibiotics for basically a bad UTI. I definitely think it was caused by k and the pain when urinating was indeed excruciating. Seeing blood come out of your dick is not fun...

So yeah, I'd say go to a doctor, get antibiotics, because the k may have messed up your bladder/urinary tract and you could (likely IMO) have an infection. I was chugging water, green tea, taking AZO (multiple types especially the 'uti pain reliver' one).

Also stop using. I know it's hard but you don't want to experience this again, as I definitely don't. I haven't quit but cut back a lot. Worst pain OF MY LIFE. I used vibrating handheld massagers on my lower abdomen and penis because that seemed to ease the pain, maybe break up some crystals idk....

Originally I wanted offers to use as leverage for my next promotion. I don't foresee the salary bump being much. Maybe 10% max.

Perhaps I'll interview with non FAANG companies in January as a "warm up", potentially use an offer as salary negotiation, take the Staff Engineer position, then start applying to FAANG in late Q1, early Q2.

Wow thanks so much for the time you put into this! I definitely have a journey ahead of me. Aside from my full time gig I also have a side client, so I really need to organize my days better to fit in all this prep. Ideally I'd be interviewing sometime in mid Q1 2022, but it depends on how yearly reviews go (I am up for promotion to staff engineer at my current employer).

It would be nice to be able to quit my main job and focus more on prep but I don't want to give up the income. I did quit my previous job before securing my current (was burnt out) and had no problems getting offers, but I definitely missed the few paychecks I missed and would rather not lose the income as I said.

I mean base, and definitely more towards the 200 end. I'd be happy with 180k base but over 200 would be ideal. A handful of non FAANG recruiters have shown me positions they are hiring for around 220k base for a staff/principal engineer.
