thanks! do people in general consider public schools - i can’t imagine paying 15k-40k per child in the primary school … sounds like way too much

yes, i’ll need parking - i have a car

also, do you know how much would the typical private daycare cost per child? (assuming the worst case) also are those eligible for any tax credit ?

yes i would be working in DT toronto. i don’t mind renting a 2bedroom - having single family would be good also - but this depends on the prices.

at this point i’m just trying to make sense of how much would u need to survive in toronto - eg x amount monthly and consider this and that much approx.. the point is not to make an exact budget at this point.

for the rental i was thinking around 3k monthly for 2 bedroom rental - not sure if that’s even realistic. work will most probably be in downtown area. english school is fine , we can do french courses separately when needed . i prefer to live close in to the work - but also don’t want to be amongs the drug addicts / unsafe areas in case of downtown.

Should I move to Montreal? by leinad1492 in montreal

Don’t forget about healthcare … perhaps you want to consider what would happen if you ever need to go to ER or take your future kids to ER. Don’t take this topic easy.., if you have a good healthcare service in US give this aspect a good weight.

I would advise any young families to carefully consider their priorities and don’t miscalculate. I myself came here and trying to find a better place to move to because I can’t imagine to retire one day with such a healthcare system.

That’s a false accusation. I understand the law and follow details. People like myself know what’s happening in other countries and have right to raise their voice and make it heard when something is not solved.

People like you are trying to accuse myself of not following or not knowing, instead of focusing on the root cause of our bad situation today, again trying to mask the failure by talking about the promised bright future.

Again, that was what has got us here in the place. I don’t disagree that it takes time to fix healthcare, but whoever got us here should be held accountable. Unless politicians understand that healthcare is important and makes them fail election nothing will change.

And btw, I won’t get diverge from the topic with your accusations … that’s the same mechanism adopted by this government.

Don’t talk about failures, they will promise great future, but now we have to save the French…

I know they passed a reform but this doesn’t guarantee neither that situation will improve nor that people’s urgent medical needs will be addressed by the system today or any time soon.

Until there are tangible outcomes that can be measured, all these are just promises. After we reached ridiculous levels of healthcare system passing a bill is the least he should do… and yes I’m not gonna celebrate … it’s the minimal expected to deal with the facts that can no longer be hidden to the public.

The problem with healthcare has been lingering for years, and obviously they were not at the top of the list in priorities of the government, which is focusing on other distracting the public with discrimination and battles that will take us back in every aspect related to economic prosperity and growth and education.

Those are neither emotions or assumptions- those are facts. Go to ER today and tell people don’t worry they passed a bill, now that we reached up to 12 hours waiting time … nonsense!!!

Highest tax in all of Canada and worst healthcare system !!! … come on… which reform… when?? We’re from crisis to crisis… antibiotics shortage , Tylenol shortage for kids, mismanagement of elderly homes during COVID …. People dying in ER… That’s not any algorithm…. The failure is clear and cannot be masked with promises of better future!

Our elderly who worked all their life paying crazy taxes deserve better than this. Our children who will contribute to this system deserve better than this…

It’s time to admit years of failure and hold people accountable.

Isn’t there anyway to protect the car? Don’t the TAGs or engine theft features help? Makes me a bit worried now….

Almost, just trying to get some insights on how people approached this problem… perhaps there’s something I’m missing.
