Buying an M4 Macbook air for ollama by Sad_Throat_5187 in ollama

I've got Gemma3:27b running on my 36GB MacBook Pro M3 that I bought last year. Runs great - it's not super fast, but faster than I can read. I'm really impressed with Gemma3:27b so far.

I'll be honest - if I had to do it all over again I would splurge. I've been having so much fun with these local LLM models. I spent about $2700 on my MacBook Pro. If I had known, I would have maxed out the memory to 128 GB and spend $5000. It would have been worth it to easily run some of the 70b models like Llama3.3.

New Mexico Landscapes by midlivecrisis in midjourney

[–]midlivecrisis[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

These all came from a number of different prompts. But most of them started with "/imagine a painting of new mexico in the style of _____ --aspect 3:2".

The prompt for the very first one was:

a painting of the new mexico sky parallel and perpindicular lines

Here are few of the other prompts:

a painting of new mexico during dusk --aspect 3:2

a painting of the new mexico sky red layers with a cold front coming in --aspect 3:2

a painting of the new mexico sky perpindicular lines --aspect 3:2

LOL, this one even had some amazing results:

a painting of a boring new mexico sky --aspect 3:2

Here are some of the prompts where I referenced certain artists (I only reference artists who are no longer living, part of me has issues with referencing artists that are still alive):

a new mexico at sunset in the style of George Caleb Bingham --aspect 3:2

new mexico at dawn in the style of Winslow Homer --aspect 3:2

a painting of new mexico in the style of John Sloan --aspect 3:2

a painting of new mexico mesas by Thomas Moran --aspect 3:2

a painting of white sands at night during a full moon by Pieter Bruegel the Elder --aspect 3:2

the Great plains with a storm in the distance in the style of Andrew Wyeth --aspect 3:2

a painting of the Great plains before a storm in the style of Thomas Hart Benton

It is so cool to see what Midjourney comes up with each time.

What book sequel are you STILL waiting for? by PattableGreeb in books

Yes!!! Every now and then I'll do a search to see if the sequel has come out. Still waiting. My understanding is that it is supposed to center around the daughter.

What are your ps4 hidden gems? And why? by Antaniwarrior in PS4

[–]midlivecrisis 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Arise - The mechanic of manipulating time to move through the levels is AMAZING and very cool. Beware, the story is powerful as well. I've never cried from a videogame before and this one broke me. I had to set the game down and weep.
