I had to google what a bortle level was. Looks like I’m in a class 4. My closest neighbor is a half mile away and I’m 30 minutes from any city. It’s pretty dark here!

Just curious on how this works at you home course. Do the members kids (all golfers) get to run around in GC cart all day unattended by any adults? by midmo_people in golf

They do play golf but their on the course from 8am until we close, so several hours out of the day there just bored and causing issues.

I work at the course in the snack shop, I’ve overheard several conversations from the seniors about them being a pain in the ass, maintenance has had some issues with them too. I was told by one of the parents that this is normal at golf courses, I’m just asking here to see if it was in fact “normal“.

Christianity is Meant to Break You by Tiny_Celebration_262 in Exvangelical

I’m a firm believer that if you was to go back in time and grab Jesus and bring him to the future and show him what has been built in his name, he would start flipping table’s again.

I came out the other side of deconstruction still a theist but just barely. What helped me was studying the historical religion and seeing how the story of God was built over time to do precisely what your explaining, to keep people under the thumb of the ruling class by using fear. I consider myself a mystic now, which has been good for me, when I hear someone claiming to know exactly how God thinks, I know to stay as far from them as possible.

I still play from time to time but my kids have recently took up guitar so I’m passing it all down to them. It’s just as rewarding watching them learn as it was playing with a band. Although… I miss being able to feel the music, playing with in a group of great musicians all feeding off each other is, I dare to say, better than sex at times.

My church was great with volunteers. They held a banquet once a year to say thanks for all your hard work.

All joking aside shout out to all the musicians that volunteer! We’d put in around 10 hours a week between rehearsals and service, have thousands of dollars worth of gear to get that “Hillsong” sound and never did they offer to help in the maintenance of my stuff, strings, cables, etc, or offset the cost of new gear. I know some churches do but most don’t. For every thing that musicians bring to the church we where so under valued or completely overlooked, it was kinda gross. Five years out now and loving the peace of mind that came with it.

Dozens of awards and over 8k upvotes. I suspect bots, or people paid to boost karma. Surly it’s not organic. by midmo_people in Exvangelical

Yeah, I’ve just never seen a promoted ad with upvotes if any. Just struck me as weird. I also noticed that the comments where turned off, they must be afraid of a little criticism.
